All of this Drama and BS needs to be put to bed. I guess nobody has the balls to say it so I will.

First of all we have the Oklahoma Racing Association that has been in existence for over 50 years, and now have new group of four (4) that feel they have all of the answers to our current dilemma.

There are no simple answers but this newly founded group has proven themselves to date to be less than confident on all levels. The way they handled the Save Fair Speedway affairs was no more than shambles. Now they feel they are in a position to get Dirt Track racing back to OKC with their newly founded organisation Dirt Racing Promotions, LLC.....Inc. ......Ltd. .....

This is what sucks the most about the Racing community in general, it is full of professional people in all walks of life, yet we cannot come together as a whole for the good of our sport. It is high time to set ego's aside and work towards a common goal. I don't care what class of car you run, the bottom line is we are all Racers.

There is no "Class of Car" better than another, some can afford Sprints and some can afford Mini Stocks, that does not mean we should be divided on the big picture. We are all Racers.

So stand behind whatever Orginization you feel is in your best interest.....But keep in mind we are all in the same boat and if the Ship sinks!!!!!

I have tried to say that all along but was trying to be gentle. I guess you could say there are at least three different ideas/plans for tracks in and witnin the OKC metro and that won't work people. As I stated they would be "just another race track" and please, that is no knock to the other tracks in the state and around the area.

But your talking about replacing Fairgrounds Speedway, which isn't going to happen. However, to do it right (about $8 million dollars worth) you would have something that the general fan and new people (or bored people) will want to go check out. The racer and race fan will be there, that is no problem, but it has to be done right and open until it is done right.

There have been those that come on here, from out of nowhere, and have blown smoke. I can see it and I am one of the dumbest people out there so I know others see it. There are those who have tried their best to be somebody and make a difference. That difference should have occured at least ten years ago and each year in between when the closing was brought up. It wasn't, it is over with, it ain't happening so get over it.

The ORA has the meaning of nothing to alot of people the past couple of years. However, this is an organization that has been around for years and even though has struggled, is still an established organization. Even though it is without a home base (for now) that doesn't mean it still can't do some good. Maybe it should take a hiatus until a track is built, and a track will be built I am sure, but it can't be tracks and it can't be "just another track."

From sprint car racers - them damn premadonnas - to mortifieds to mini boring or whatever division of race car, they are still racers and fans and should all be treated as the same because they are. The purse maybe different (as it always has) but all should be considered and thought of equally.

For those who see this as an opportunity to make this a "look at us and watch us set dirt track racing on fire in Oklahoma" grow the hell up and go. It isn't about you (never will be), it isn't about me nor anybody else. It is about all coming together to make something happen for dirt track racing in this city or nearby.

And yes, I still take offense to this website being called "second rate" and the people who post here basically bums and worthless, non-intellegent people. There are tons of racers and fans who support this deal, who come here with racing and non racing topics, all seem to stand together. For a hint to you, I believe most will continue to band together so maybe in the end one little group can play your own dirt track racing game in your little sand box.

IF there is something that is going on with the city and a race track, back off and let those with experience handle things as I am sure they would know best.

I could keep on but I will just be rambling.

And this is coming from myself, my personal feelings and thoughts, and do NOT reflict anything of oklahomatidbits. I get damned for posting the same thing an average poster does so I will probably be damned for this one as well.

Good post uncle, hope you can come up with more.

This is what allot of people have been saying for along time and I could not agree more with you guys, and the ones that have said the same thing in person rather than posting how they really feel. All I need to say is Quit living a dream and get it together or move on.

Nobody is going to save the day unless you have money to burn. Give it time we will be racing again somewhere. And we will be at a track talking about what once was......

I am a tulsa racer but I would like to infuse an opinion that you guys may or may not have thought of. The amount of money needed to build the kind of race track that you guys need is actually not as much as the investment OKC has put into the Thunder per fan showing up. What you need is a top notch (think Outlaw) type facility run by a promoter (Danny Womack) that actually wishes to advance the fan and racer experience. You don't need a large group of people to propose this initiative but if it were me and my town and I had the time I would recruit someone that has experience with getting signatures to vote on a $15 million dollar facility that would rival any facility in the country. I would use Outlaw as my proof that it would be self-sufficient since Outlaw has been averaging 3,000 fans with proper promoting in the past 2 seasons because of it's kid-friendly atmosphere. In all seriousness their is no reason OKC couldn't average well over 5,000 people a night if promoted properly. I don't know how your city works on this type of stuff but normally all it requires is 5-10,000 votes and/or a city council willing to put it to a vote of the people. Then with proper promotion you might be able to squeak it by. Think about how much money they spend to get 18,000 in the Ford Center 45 nights a year when they can spend a much better price per butt with what I would propose. I feel the key to this would be to get the mayor to back it and/or as many city councilor's as possible. The mayor has said that he wants to be a part of getting OKC Metro another race track. You just have to find a spot in OKC that is more than 2 miles from any form of residential property (think industrial). I would also talk with major corporations like O'Reilly's or Lucas Oil and so on for a proposed naming rights contract to possibly pay for a quarter of the facility. You might be surprised at what is possible with someone who is willing to put in the hours to lobby this thing.

Mayor Mick Cornett (OKC) is bringing grand prix to OKC. That's what racing he's interested in.

Hey Uncle, have you or anyone else heard of this new company?? This was sent to me via facebook too.

Press Release
Oklahoma City, OK
CBoY Inc.

It is with great pleasure to announce the opening of Calling Bullshit on You Industries (CBoY Ind.) of Oklahoma. As a company we will pride ourselves on calling out bullshit of companies or organizations that feel the need to get the hopes up of the racing community in Oklahoma City. We will also be holding a weekly vote on if a story is bullshit each week. The vote, according to the bylaws of our company, will always result in a 4-0 vote. This meaning that every story that we vote on, will in fact be bullshit. If your story or press release is found to be bullshit, then we will post it on the second rate website www.oklahomatidbits.com and then assign certain people within the company to leak this information to others within the community so that everyone is informed that your story or press release is in fact bullshit.
This company was started as organization and then we decided to vote everyone out that did not agree that particular stories were bullshit and then mysteriously one day, we became a company because we decided to put the word Industries at the end of our name. We will be opening our doors of our business at our new location, very easy to find location, halfway between BFE and Shit Creek (bring a paddle). We will have a grand opening on the second Tuesday of each week for a month until someone finds us and then we'll have to close the doors. If you would like to join our team, simply just post in big bold letters "BULLSHIT" on a press release or announcement from any organization you feel is spewing bullshit from the mouth. If you would like to read the company bylaws, please inform me and I will have something made up so that it looks like we know what we are doing and can throw the bylaws in anyone's face that we feel the need to throw them at. Our company motto is "Your spewing Bullshit, and we know it"

Sincerely,
Rusty Nutts

Thank you Villain, your opinions are as strong and as valid as mine or anyone else's here. Some of you may have taken my original post out of context.

I was speaking for myself and my thoughts only. The original post was not intended to harm anyone in their efforts, but to merely bring light to our current situation and to make people stop and think before reacting.

There as usual are those that cannot read between the lines and take offence, there is NOTHING personal here. We all have a say, and we are all dedicated in what we do.

So grow up......
