I know quite a few vintage fans and restorers frequent here and was wondering what they do for tires nowadays for their restorations? I know there is Coker tires but is there any other sources? I was interested in rear tire sizes that were run in the 1970's and early 80's.Thanks, ron c.

Ron: Call Paul Weisel---610-395-5303---he is a Firestone Dealer in Orefield, Pa. He has some old 721 Firestones that I have run in the past. I ran a 13x30x15 on the right rear & a 11x28x15 on the left rear. We have all went to running Hoosiers.

Speedway Motors has retro tires in the catalog and they say they have a bunch of original Firestone Diamonds.

thanks for the replies. Welder, when you say you went to Hoosier, do you mean a current Hoosier tire but in a comparable size to the ones you mentioned?

Ron: Hoosier has a good range of tires, I have been running their sprint fronts on my Sedan, The rears I have been running are 92-94 RR----88-90 LR. I have been running the D12 compound all the way around we only run 6 to8 laps so they last real good. The RR can be got from the sprint car guys it is their LR. Dwane
