Press Release - March 4, 2010 (Oklahoma City,OK) It is indeed with great pleasure that Dirt Racing Promotions, Inc (DRP Inc) announces that it has opened it doors. Our management and promotions group/team has developed plans for reintegrating dirt racing to the central Oklahoma region and reclaiming our rightful place as a centerpoint for the development of race car drivers and provide a state-of-the-art, family friendly dirt racing multi-purpose motorsports complex. Our motto is "Every Lap Will Be Historic". This is the way we will conduct our day to day business. We will provide a dirt racing complex that meets the needs and demands of dirt track racing in the 20th century; provide an entertainment package that is family affordable; and mostly, provide the most competitive weekly dirt racing events in the region. As we head into the close of the winter, we will publish more information on the plans as we forge ahead. Sincerely, John E. Banks Chief Communications Officer Dirt Racing Promotions, Inc. "Every Lap Will Be Historic" So what is really going on? Is it a dream or is reality? Or is it a new marketing company trying to organise racing in Oklahoma? Or is somebody going to build a new track????

As soon as I make a couple of phone calls and if my hunch is correct I will have plenty to comment about. My rant and preaching the Gospel I guess you could say.

This was sent to me via Mandy Taylor-Griffin sent a message to the members of Save State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City /Facebook. I am not trying to stir up any shit I just would like to know what the hell is going on. It seems that is the biggest problem, this group needs to come right and tell us what is really going on not half of it or don't say anything at all IMO...

As an owner of this second rate website, I will say this. People need to work together (racers, organizors, fans, etc.) and communicate with one another to make the best possible situation for dirt track racing on a large scale if one is to be done in and around OKC. People shouldn't do this crap just for a "look what I did" attitude or a "thank me now" thought.
Right now there tends to be three different possibilites, that I know of, and I will be making a phone call to find out about one of them.
In order to do it right to gain the fans and the drivers, a new track needs to be done right from the outset or people will look at it like just another race track.
I ain't even started yet and that isn't my rant. Just wanted to chyme in on this lovely Saturday morning down in Fort Worth as I check this second rate website that does no service to anybody in the racing community.

David, Thank you for your "second rate website"!!! Bahahahaha. Doesn't do any service to the racing community? You better drop those track advertisers, car fabricators, equipment suppliers and vendors and all the members of this site.
Thanks again for your time, efforts and dedication!! AND PATIENCE!
Have fun in Fort Worth and safe trip back!

Well the best thing you can do Erich IMO is to move on like I did. I went to one meeting and that was all it took for me. These people have too many agendas like not being organized and lack of respect for the people that are trying to do the best that they can do to save the speedway.
After one in the group totally screwed things up at the Chili Bowl over wanting more free tickets and free motel rooms for people. After being promised a certain amount that was not good enough for some in the group they wanted more. So I did not blame Lanny, Emmit, and Debbie telling the group to forget it you get nothing at the Chili Bowl, after some people kept blowing up their phones complaining about the amount they were first promised when they were trying to get the 2010 Chili Bowl going. I blame the people that could not leave good enough alone. The Chili Bowl would have been a good venue for the efforts to save sfs with all of the national media coverage but greed got in the way for some IMO.
And having a rally and signing party after loosing in court, these functions should have been before the court session. And then they blame it on the weather for the response they got, if it would have been beautiful weather the out come would have been probably the same. Because most of us are not that stupid when it is over it is over.
And as far as things being leaked, what was there to leak people knew what was going on because there were too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Always wanting to keep things top secret that was the biggest problem of all its kind of hard to get people involved and keep things going the write direction when people think there is something to hide.
The thought of Save Fair Speedway was a good idea but it was gone about the wrong way, with the wrong people making their self in charge of something that was over their head and living a dream.
And as far as some people starting a new group with the same agenda SCREW THAT!!!

Well at least someone tried to do something. I'm not going to speak on the Chilli Bowl deal cause I didn't know about all that. There is enough sponcers and people out there that we could all pulled together and got the electrical problems fixed and then went from there. I take my hat off to those who tried to pull together and to the ones who did show up that cold afternoon. I was there and it sucked. Even though the courts ruled they was gonna appeal it but that cold afternoon really showed me what people thought of saving the track. I was expecting big numbers and more cars. 2 cars was there David Lee Lamberts and some old car and that was it. That really showed OKC what the track ment to people. I dont care what people say I think if enough people pulled together it would have been saved. A lot of people want to complain about the track bein gone but what did they do to help. I'm not tryin to piss anybody off but I'm just saying. We need to get rid of that idot runnin the Fair Grounds hell he has already been kicked out of a couple of states I do believe. Oh no we need more DAMN parking. Then they want to bring in a hocky team hell we couldnt even keep the Blazers alive) and a Grand Prix race. This City is beyond F%&*ed up!! JUST MY OPION.

You make a few valid points there Corey. But Lanny dropped the appeal before the Rally so alot of people knew what was going on it was over. But we were supposed to show up to find out what the next step was to be. It's hard for some people to understand that the City of OKC does not want it on the fairgrounds, no mater how many sponsors or how many Rally's or Signing party's you have.
Like I said Save Fair Speedway did an ok job with what they had to work with. So little time and so little money up against 5 or more years of extensive planning and our tax dollars in the back pockets of crooks.

AMEN !!! I could not have said it any better.
The greed, notoriety, and fame some people seek is no more than sickening, in reality they are only adding to the total demise of Dirt Track Racing in Central Oklahoma.

Oh and by the way (glad to see you back unclea and I mean that), there are a circle who "think that the education of the general readership of the board is not very high." This to go along with the fact they think this site, that has been around for 12 and a half years now, is second rate.
I can handle this site being belittled, it is what it is to some people but they keep coming here and reading, but I take offense to what is thought of by people who do post on this message board. This board and this website is for the race drivers, fans and sponsors and they care about this sport, many who have done this all their life. Not some "Johnny come lately."
Maybe there are those who need to take care of past due bills and look at themselves in the mirror before they jump on some floating devise.
I will have an official press release on this later.
