Brian Cannon Motorsports signs Coors Light as primary sponsor

By Gary Thomas

Chico, CA – March 3, 2010…With a new racing season upon us in Northern California and ready to start up this weekend Brian Cannon Motorsports is pleased to announce the signing of Coors Light as the primary sponsor for the No. 47 sprint car driven by Auburn, California's Andy Forsberg.

Cannon is very excited to have Coors Light on board this season as the primary sponsor, with the company joining Autism Awareness to back the team's efforts in 2010. "We're extremely proud to have a company like Coors Light as a sponsor and look forward to working with them during the season," he said. "The marketability that Coors Light brings should give our team some great visibility and they have a long history in sprint car racing so we couldn't be happier to have their support."

Adolph Coors Company was founded in 1873 in Golden, Colorado and is renowned for having the largest on-site brewery facility in the world. Its principal subsidiary Coors Brewing Company is the nation's third largest brewer and throughout its history Coors has provided consumers with high-quality malt-beverage products using the finest ingredients available.

Dubbed the "Silver Bullet" Coors Light was introduced in 1978 and is the third largest selling beer in the country. Coors Light is also the official beer sponsor of NASCAR, the National Football League, the Oakland Raiders and is famous for its cold activated cans and bottles because, "When the mountains turn blue it's as cold as the Rockies." Coors Light's Rocky Mountain heritage and unique Frost Brewing process delivers that crisp, refreshing taste you can't find anywhere else.

The 2010 year will be Brian Cannon Motorsports' inaugural season of competition and will find the team gunning for the California Sprint Car Civil War Series and Placerville Speedway titles with Forsberg, who is a former four-time Civil War Series champ, two-time Silver Dollar Speedway titlist and was also the 2000 Placerville track champion. Last season saw Forsberg capture 10 main event victories, highlighted by his first career Calistoga Speedway win in August and his very first Thunderbowl Raceway winged sprint car triumph during opening night of the Trophy Cup in October.

Forsberg and the Cannon Motorsports No. 47 team will kick-off the season this Saturday night at Marysville Raceway Park's Spring Sprint Car Open. The Auburn driver is the defending champion of the event after holding off the strong challenges of World of Outlaw star Jason Sides last year to score the big win and he'll look to make it back-to-back on Saturday. Forsberg also led a number of laps at Marysville during the October sprint car open, until getting into a spin on a late restart while battling for the lead on the rough-and-tumble surface. The front gate will open at 5pm this Saturday night with first race scheduled for 7.

Auburn's Andy Forsberg pictured in victory lane at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway after beating-out a 68-car field during opening night of the annual Trophy Cup last October. The four-time Civil War champ would eventually score a fourth place result in the final event standings finishing behind only Tim Kaeding, Shane Stewart and Paul McMahan.
