Here are three cars that I have no idea who the drivers were in 1982 and 1984 when I made stops at Jackson (VFW then).

Any help is appreciated...

Lee

1982 The number appears to be 59?

1984 Car 29

1984 Car 60

The first car is actually #69 driven by Lloyd Beckman from Lincoln Nebraska. It was also driven by Dean Ward from Grand Island Nebraska @ Huset's back in 1982.

Next, the car # 29 is Gary Zitterich from Sioux Falls South Dakota

The car #60, I believe is Mike Selberg from Brooklyn Park Minnesota. I'm not totally positive on this one.

Thanks much... I sort of recognized the 69 car, but had the number all wrong. I checked it against another photo I had of Beckman behind the wheel at Knoxville and it matched.

I only got to Jackson a couple times and Husets once for a WoO show in 1983.

In 1982 I shot just one roll of film and got 54 Reiners, 69 Beckman, 99 Vogelaar, 16 DeWall, 38 Grein, 3 Van Emmerick, 5 Fredrickson and 18 Lusk.

In 1984 I came back and got 21k Kennedy, 22x Frantzen, 1z B Zitterich, 16 DeWall, 4 Jones, 19 Houseman, 63 Eskuri, 18 Houseman, 29 G Zitterich, 60 Selberg, 1w Richert Jr, 18 Lusk, 4 T Mack, 26 Brahmer, 14 Droescher and 58 Chapman.

I owned white pants just for VFW

"I owned white pants just for the VFW", Oh ya U had to have white pants to get into the pits. I still have mine but they do-not fit anymore! Great pictures, keep them coming, I will look at some old programs and see if I can find the driver of the 1st pix.

So true on getting run over...

Back then at Knoxville we photographers used to stand "between" the push off road and the track in turns 1 and 2...there was more than once when a spinning sprint car went right behind me!

I was young and stupid, now I am not so young but I still do stupid things!

Could the last picture possibly be the #66 Baumann sprinter? I believe it was driven around that time by Vance Peterson or Dan Mansfield and wrenched by Loren Fick.

Interesting...the first letter going down the front of the hood is a "B"

I sent a link to this thread to GRP. That photo came from his collection and he's got extensive records from that era.

That was my second year in a sprint and I had about 15 races as a career total... I'm pretty sure I never made the A at Jackson until 85. maybe 86 frown

But hey, we weren't far behind Marlon... he probably only had 1 shoe in compared to my 4-5

As far as I can tell, Ron is correct on all three drivers. Beckman in the #69, G Zitterich in the #29 and Mike Selberg in the #60. Selberg made a return to racing and actually did not have an orange and white color combination then. I'm pretty sure I remember it being blue and white. The Baumann #66 car did not look like the car in the photo, and the car pictured certainly appears to be Selberg's #60 sprinter. Selberg usually had his name running down the front of the hood section. The letter "S" could be mistaken for a "B" at the angle shown in the photo.

I've got an older 1970s era photo that I am waiting to stump Ron on this coming January in my annual trivia contest. If I remain as busy as I have been throughout a good share of this year, I likely will only do the sprint car division in the contest. That was the only division in the first contest and will ALWAYS be in the contest!

I enlarged the hood and sharpened it a bit... Its a B for sure and what you can see of a second letter it sure looks like the top of an A. But it could be a anything word starting with B.

I took 2 shots of the car that night, and the angle on the second photo is almost identical and was no help.

It no big deal...but I like tying a name to each car after 25 years.

I would say that is Vance Peterson in the Baumann 66 from 1984. That was a long time ago and I was a lot younger but that car rings a bell.
