Wanted to thank all of the drivers who helped out with the helmet pass for Travis Rutz on Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway, as well as give huge thanks to each and every person that donated money throughout the weekend.
I am supposed to be getting another check in the mail within the next couple days and we will be sending $4,600 to Travis' fund. Really is awesome to see how supportive everyone was down here.
----------
Also as mentioned in a post below, Rodney Cook will be organizing a helmet pass at this Saturday's sprint car event in Marysville. I'm not totally sure on what drivers will be there, I do know of a few, but if any happen to read this and would like to help out I know it would be appreciated.
Also Rodney will be accepting donations in the pits as well. Any money, shirts, old nose wings, visors, pictures or whatever will be accepted for an auction to benefit Travis.

Latest update on Travis from http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/travisrutz this morning:
---------------------------
Statement from the fam yesterday afternoon:
Trav has had a roller coaster day. His vitals go up then they go down but he is steady now. Julie is his daytime nurse and she is so fantastic and smart she makes us feel like there could be nobody better taking care of him. On a sad note we lost a big part of our support group today Kenny, Shane, Brent and Matt left for home. Two years ago Travis was asked to drive for Rudeen Racing Although Trav has driven for some really great people before this for our family was a very proud moment. More important than racing is the people you meet along the way and the whole Rudeen Racing family welcomed my family into theirs.
Of course when it was time for everyone to leave today Trav was going through a rough stretch and we were unable to say goodbye to them. I know they understand but I dont know if they realize how much it meant to us them being here. I hate to ramble on but to be honest I have nothing better to do accept stare at a monitor and watch the numbers go up and down. On a positive note Gilligan brought in a helmet from Brian Ellinburger and both Steve and Kraig Kinser as well as Jason Sides and Joey Saldana are all sending helmets also heard from Johnny Herarras wife and they are also sending one. These acts of kindness really make the day a lot more tolerable for his mom and me. Thanks to everyone and thanks for reading. Doug Kathy Kenny & Lisa
Keep up the positivety my friends. As noted above, he's still not out of the woods. Every positive thought helps.

I will be looking for you Rodney first thing when I get there because I would like to donate (20) 2010 Sprint calendars for you to sell. They retail for $10 each so this will be a way for people to donate to Travis and get a little something for it. I won't sell calendars in the pits until you have sold them all. Of course anyone buying a calendar from me in the stands or when Rodney runs out can expect that the profits go to the same two great causes you are all already familliar with.
