34 Raceway Press Release – from the desk of Amy Laue

ATTENTION SPONSORS, DRIVERS, CREWS & FANS:

The 2009 season is one race short of another successful season at 34 Raceway, with great appreciation and support of our sponsors, drivers, crews & fans. 34 Raceway will host the 1st Annual Ice Bowl Thriller on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, providing Mother Nature cooperates. Please make note that all racing action will begin at 5:00pm to get ahead of the seasonal falling temperatures of the Midwest. Classes to include 305 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks & 4 Cylinders. This will be one last exciting event, before preparing for the 2010 season. More information may be obtained by visiting www.34raceway.com

Breaking the annual tradition of having the banquet in January… instead we're having it in November! It makes most sense for us to finish the racing season in October and follow it up with a great party/awards banquet in November, therefore, mark your calendars for the 34Raceway 2009 Awards Banquet to be held on Saturday, November 21st at the Comfort Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Burlington. Happy Hour begins at 5:00pm and dinner at 6:15. We will again honor the top ten in all 6 classes of competition held at 34 Raceway – J&J Steel, Ideal Ready Mix IMCA Latemodels, Sebastian Sandblasting 305 Sprints, Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds, Mike's Auto Parts IMCA Stock Cars, Pepsi Hobby Stocks and I-Wireless, Louisa Communications 4 Cylinders. A bulletin with specific information and ticket order forms will be mailed to the top ten in 34 Raceway points standings. All drivers, crews and fans are invited to attend. Tickets may be purchased by e-mailing [email protected]

FINALLY TO PUT ALL OF YOUR RUMORS TO REST………………

It's always amazing to me how the rumor mill really begins to work about mid-season on. Some good and some bad. For those of you who offer kind words of encouragement, compliments or constructive criticism, THANK YOU! For those of you who spread harsh words, false accusations and plain LIES… one day you'll get what you deserve! Most of you have no idea the challenges that we as owners, promoters and employees of the race track face week in and week out for not just the racing season of six months, but the entire year. We work hard acquiring supportive sponsors, recruiting drivers and fans to make 34 Raceway THE PLACE TO RACE and have an entertaining eventful fun time with your friends and family! So, to those of you who are interested in helping out and have the ability to bring your experience and expertise to the race track every Saturday night, plus special events from April thorough September, please see the EMPLOYMENT/VOLUNTEERS paragraph below, we are always seeking new talent and would offer the opportunity to add a few more educated volunteers to our racing family.

TRACK OWNERSHIP: The families of Jeff & Amy Laue, Scott & Lorrie Parish and Tom & Sue Bowling remain the owners of 34 Raceway. For some reason, every season, we find ourselves having to justify the ownership of the raceway. We three partners formed a corporation in December of 2006, when we purchased the land, equipment and additional raceway assets from JRJ Enterprises. Therefore, the track remains the property and ownership of all three partners, until such time we all decide to sell it. (Of course, I'm sure there's many of you out there that would love the opportunity to own 34 Raceway… so, call us… let's talk – EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE FOR THE RIGHT PRICE!)

We are honored to own the PREMIER RACE FACILITY in Southeast Iowa and pledge to you the sponsors, drivers, crews and fans to continue the growth of 34 Raceway and to provide great racing action week in and week out from April through September even though many times there's SOME drivers, crews and fans that make it very challenging for us…COMPETITION IS THE NAME OF THE GAME and… we all get through it, GOOD OR BAD!

RULES FOR 2010: Although the 2009 season hasn't quite come to an end yet, we will not have any major changes in any of the classes of competition at 34 Raceway for the 2010 season. (We will AGAIN clarify a few rules, but will continue to host all six classes back in action in 2010: IMCA Latemodels, 305 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks & 4 Cylinders (4 cylinders on a limited schedule – as in previous seasons) IMCA's Rules & Procedures will be available sometime mid to late November, as will the three remaining classes (305 sprints, Hobby Stocks & 4 Cylinders) rules, regulations and procedures - around the same time frame. NOTE: 305 Sprints who are contemplating building a FORD motor… we are in the process of reviewing the FORD motors. Further information and guidelines will be released the same time frame – mid to late November. As always, if anyone has any questions regarding rules, regulations or procedures, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail, we have always made ourselves available for questions or concerns.

EMPLOYMENT/VOLUNTEERS OPPORTUNITIES: For those of you who would like to tackle the challenge of working at the race track and make a judgement call, or to have the ability and authority to make a decision what's legal or not (just remember those grey areas) or maybe you would even like the opportunity to learn the track prep and spend countless hours preparing the race track for your fellow competitors or "favorite" driver… Please send your resume to 34 Raceway, PO Box 85, West Burlington, IA 52655.

2010 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Once again, we will attend the Daytona Beach RPM Promoters Workshops in February visiting with promoters from across the US and Canada sharing ideas on how to provide the best entertainment for your dollar in 2010! We have already started preparing another season full of exciting racing action! As in the past, a preliminary schedule of events will be released towards the end of 2009, beginning of 2010 to allow for all drivers, crews and fans to begin marking their calendars for another great racing season! New and exciting events & sanctioned races already in the works for the 2010 schedule, including the return of the WoO sprints and a few other surprises in store! Once again, to all sponsors, drivers, crews, fans & employees, thank you for your support and for another successful season at 34 Raceway! See you in 2010!

Jeff, Amy, Scott, Lorrie, Tom, and Sue. You all deserve a lot of credit for keeping a business operating in these troubling times let a lone a race track. Please keep up the good work. I look forward to supporting 34 in 2010. Remember if it was easy anyone could do it.

Not just talk about doing it.

Tell me how much money you got and I'll tell you how
fast you can go!
