World of Outlaws Sprint Car driver Craig Dollansky visited with Stan
Meissner of DIRTCAST.COM and talked about his recent preliminary night
win at Pevely, Missouri. Craig finished second to fellow Kasey Kahn
Racing driver Joey Saldana in the Ironman 55 the following night giving
KKR a weekend sweep. Craig and Stan talk about Craig’s first attempt at
driving a Sprint Car at the Centuria Speedway (now known as Kopellah).
Craig shares his memories of the North Starr Speedway and the legendary
drivers that influenced him as a boy and traveling around the upper
Midwest with his father Bill. Stan asks Craig about the Knoxville
Nationals, the first ever World of Outlaws Sprint Car race at the Deer
Creek Speedway and the World of Outlaws race he promotes at Spencer,
Iowa.
World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Public Relations Director Tony
Veneziano visits with Stan Meissner of DIRTCAST.COM about the World of
Outlaws first ever visit to the Deer Creek Speedway. The World of
Outlaws stop at Deer Creek takes place on Wednesday August 19 which is
the week following the Knoxville Nationals. Tony and Stan talk about
the first World of Outlaws race in the state of Minnesota that took
place on June 24, 1979, won by none other than Steve Kinser. Tony talks
about Steve’s success ratio when visiting tracks for the first time.
The Deer Creek race is billed as the Sprint For A Cure Summer Clash in
association with the Bob Buckmeier Foundation. Deer Creek is located in
southeast Minnesota on Highway 63 south of Rochester and not far from
