Whatever happened to the Kings date for USAC/CRA? I thought they were going to reschedule. And what about USAC's lousy attempt @ scheduling on the west coast this year? Hope they do better next year because these month long waits for 410 sprint car racing sucks big time!

410 traditional sprint car racing in Southern California needs a new sanctioning body. Plain and simple.

They had a good sanctioning body, but failed to support it....
Just my opinion.

Well, we all know what is said about opinions. Having said that, here is mine. It seems that everything that is wrong with the world is the fault of USAC. Is it because they provide a professional appearing show that makes safety mandates on promoters? (I have personally seen every safety device, starting with the simple lap belt argued about.) While the purses are meager, I truly believe that without USAC we would be running for a $1000 to win and $100 to start. Which in my opionion is insulting even to the 360 boys at Ventura. If anything, our USAC officials are being as easy on the teams as possible just as not to cause a rub. I believe safety is being compromised at the risk of not wanting any team to start their whinning. I shutter to guess how many ohtoothin frames are on the track putting drivers at risk. The whole dollar value changed (at the request of the car owners) when we got away from the 23 degree heads and the 1250# weight rule. Soo what is the big problem with USAC, is it because that after a night of racing you know the check IS in the mail? Soo what is the problem with USAC, is it because should a injury occur that we know that the proper insurance is in place? So is it because the people that are involved with making all of the above happen, do it for a very meager amount of pay? It seems to me that in an atempt to become the best at anything in today's society is like putting a big target on your back. I say back, because the majority of whinners haven't the guts to face a target on the chest. Personally I would race for the Devil himself if I had to. Thank God for the United States Auto Club. May they never get their wings. Ray Stansberry

Show of hands....who got a bad check from SCRA...yah,nobody...SCRA held the pit passes for members at $25..no pill draw fee.no transponders..no radio...and when you had a problem -someone who could make a decision..not a call to almighty USAC headquarters...we had it pretty good and blew it.....failed to support it,your right '4merhooker'

Well said, Ray.
I wasn't around for the history, so my opinion is "unqualified".
But I gotta say, everytime USAC puts on an race at Ventura, first class personnel, production and action.
Let them qualify, JIMMY!
