According to an email that I received this afternoon from Steve Sinclair and was asked to post on the message boards the show will go on as scheduled.

I think that the UMSS cars can pretty much run with the IMCA class without too much change if any- I know it works the other way around- IMCA License-Hoosiers IMCA marked-There is a Head claim rule with IMCA but has not been too much of a problem-Check it out- Call Bob- IMCA Sprint Car Director-507-931-4803 for exact details. Hope to have a bunch of 360 cars there.

What is the IMCA license fee's?

What does the Hoosiers IMCA marked cost?

And is there a LR rule?

How much is the head claim?

My thought's are that if the license fee was waved for the 2 nights, UMSS could run their tires

and you get rid of the claim rule, you could very possibly get 8 to 10 cars

Otherwise by the looks of what has been running IMCA this year, there won't be many cars.

One more thing, what is the COMPLETE purse for these 2 nights

Just my opinion

To me it looks like it would be pretty expensive for anyone outside IMCA to come run the 2 day Elko show. By the time you buy the IMCA tires, Lic fee and entry fee, it could cost you close to 500.00 just to run 2 nights 2 . Too bad IMCA couldn't loosen the rules alittle bit for that one show. I think they would get a

good car count then. But then I know it's not that easy to do.

Mize,

You are right about the expense. We've already paid to run the UMSS series, a fee of $135.00 for 2 nights seems a bit high. Maybe IMCA could lower the license fee for that two day show and probably get more cars to show up. The fans would definitely like to see more cars out there than the regular IMCA numbers they have been getting. Just our opinion.

How much different are the rules between the two sanctions? It would be nice to see the Kouba's and the Allen's work together if both parties want to make sprint car racing better in Minnesota. If they could unify the rules, they could still do their own shows but have something like the Jackpot series and draw up to 30 cars pretty easy. It would be good for all parties and the fans too!

The rules are pretty parrallell to each other- for the UMSS cars to say that it is pretty expensive to run the 2 day show- that works both ways- how about when you have a Sat. or Sunday open??? You can come to Arlington & Redwood with the IMCA equipment- I know some have done that- Hope for all the best in 360 racing whatever sanction you run- Pat

The offer was made and suggested over the off season. However all you would need to do is disconnect the wing slidder, get the rr and lr IMCA Hoosier and a lisence. Your $500 is alot to go racing for a couple of shows but i know of racers that spend that every night on tires alone. Its not a regular thing for them to put dirt on Elko hope everyone can find a way to come play. You are more then welcome to come race at Arlington and Redwood with your umss cars if all the cars would show up we would probably be racing for $1000 to win each night.

If your looking for tires call Paul Burger 952 873-6261 I plan on picking some up from him and having them at the track let him know and he can send more with me. Thanks and look forward to racing with everyone. If you have any other questions you can drop me an email at [email protected] and I will get back to you thanks Brett Allen

one more thing for the umss guys to think about is the gear rule. i think it should be banned because racing is about who knows what to do with the track conditions and adjustments on your car to make you faster. not everyone given the same car and race on who has the biggest motor. I also think imca should consider wing sliders they are not to exspensive and alot of the guys have them already, and can improve the show with a little bump of the slider, it can also give you a better handling of the car and the sprintcars can actually race instead of follow the leader. and as far as the claiming goes i wouldnt be worried about it the imca sprintcars very rarely claim each other because i think they are better than that.

The IMCA rules meetings are held each year 1 in arlington and the other in Redwood usually in november it is well advertised a great thing for you to come and bring up and have a vote on this off season, However on the gear rule the past years that I have raced it has really helped out me as a competitior my engines that I have had in the past dont get much life with anything over 7400 rpm it has really leveled the playing feild on a tacky track when it gets dry it really dont matter what gear you have in thats where your feet come into play. The gear rule for elko really wont be a factor I will post it soon.

Mize Lets try the shoe on the other foot. If an outsider comes to race a umss show what happens?

I see above in Daves post that he has already paid the Umss fees, I don't know how much that is so lets just say $50.00

then we have to buy a wing slider to be competitive $200.00, 1 7/8 " stack restrictors $250.00 , plus a set of tires $375.00

Thats $875.00 for a one night show, makes $500.00 for two nights sound pretty good to me.

Now lets be real it costs $1000.00 to take a sprint car out of the trailer every night when you add in all the expenses for wrecks freshening motors fuel and all the

rest of it.

There are already some of the cars running IMCA and UMSS .

The car count for the Jackpot races has been 18 to 20 so it will be a good show at ELCO.

The UMSS has a temp lic fee or what ever you want to call it, that's 15.00 and in some cases I have heard they could forget it for that night.

You don't have to put a hydraulic slider on the car, you can still adjust it manually, with IMCA you can't run the hydraulic slider so you have to buy a stationary slider for about 60.00.

Restrictor stack can be purchursed for under $50.00

And yes, tires are always an issue $$$$$$

So I don't think your 875.00 is real

Whatever, I hope they get a good car count

Mize, I said you need the wing slider to be competitive it's not really right to have some of the cars able to adjust wings and some not. I think in the past they have been allowed wire or tape the handle stationary. Plus if you bought the slider rod you would have it for ever and could race in more places.

Please advise us where we can get stacks for $50.00, or was that for one which makes eight of them $400.00.
