Good night goes array for Terrell, 8th place in All Pro main; Wild Winged Wednesday next

PETALUMA, CA (5/30 /09)Sebastopol’s Bradley Terrell had everything going for him during preliminary competition at Petaluma Speedway Saturday night. Driving the Vanlare Steering Repair #5v in the All Pro Championship Series event, it appeared that Terrell was well on his way to another top finish in the series where he has led the point standings all season long.

In qualifying, Terrell was the fifth fastest driver of the night. In the first heat race of the evening, Terrell started outside of pole sitter Klint Simpson and drove into the lead to take the checkered flag. During a special trophy dash midway through the progam, Terrell was once again victorious.

“The car was great in the early going and the track was nice tonight as well,” said Terrell. “It seemed like things were going our way until we got to the main and we just had some bad luck.”

Starting in the second position, Terrell took the lead of Saturday’s 25-lap feature event and was having a strong run when a broken steering arm took him out of contention for a repeat victory at the track he calls home. When the night ended, Terrell finished in 8th as young Gary Paulson scored his first win of his racing career.

“It just wasn’t our night tonight,” said Terrell. ‘I have to thank Jim VanLare for letting me drive this car and all the hard work his crew puts into it. I’d like to congratulate Gary Paulson on his first win tonight too.”

Following Saturday’s event, it appears that Terrell is unofficially second in the point standings, sitting three points behind former champion Alissa Geving.

The coming week will be a busy one for Bradley Terrell. On Wednesday he will field his family owned #43 sprint car in the third segment of the Civil War Sprint Car Series in “Wild Winged Wednesday” at Placerville Speedway. On Thursday he will graduate from AnalyHigh School in Sebastopol et a break from the Petaluma Speedway All Pro Series next weekend however as the series will take a one week hiatus from competition to allow for a special event at the speedway.
