Bought one of my first racing tees from Carroll at Nance Speed Equip. when up for a NCRA in Wichita in 1977 and I still have that T shirt today.

RIP Carroll Nance.

Nance, Carol W., 65, former senior manufacturing engineer for Raytheon, passed away Thurs, May 28th. He was born Feb. 19, 1944 to LaVern and Marvell Nance. He loved sprint car racing and was instrumental in the design, development and manufacturing of many of the components that are currently being used in sprint car racing today. Winner of two World of Outlaw championships, one NCRA championship, two world records, and many others across the United States, sprint car racing was a way of life that he was born into and passed on to his children. Survived by his wife of 28 yrs, Debbie; son, Bryon Nance of Tx; daughter, Shelly McKay and stepson, Ojar Peters, brother, Allen Nance all of KS, sisters, Diane Herman of AR, and Sharon Stang, brother-in-law, Dwight Diefenbach, both of KS; five grandchildren, Briana, Shane, Elizabeth, Matthew and Declan. He is proceeded in death by his father, LaVern and sister, Charlotte. Graveside service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2nd at Kechi Township Cemetery. Memorials: American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601 and/or National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, One Sprint Capital Place, P.O. Box 542, Knoxville, Iowa 50138.
