It did. The above picture was posted by brian26 on another board. It's a Hank Henry car being restored by Paul Martens for a friend of mine. The picture below is of Jerry Weld with this car in 1967. My Monday job as a kid in 1966 was to push this car out in the lot and wash it.

That restoration is definitely high-end! Haven't seen any recent pics but it'll be a showpiece.

What kind of master cylinder is this and whats it out of? I remember my dad running one like this in the late 60's early 70's.

Looks similar to one that I had on my 56 Chevy.

You could probably run to a local auto supply and take a peek at their Lockheed/Wagner book. Many times they will show pictures of the master cylinders. That style of body is used in many cylinders but with different styles of mounting, such as the mount shown, and with 3 and 4 bolt flanges at the push rod end. The only place I have seen that type of mounting is in forklifts and Gleaner combines from the 60s and 70s.

I do not think it is a chevrolet master cylinder. I used master cylinders from Chevys out of 62.63, & 64 on several cars I built. They had the cylinder under the left front floor & you had to remover a metal cap to put brake fluid in the cylinder. The pedal was mounted to the master cylinder & pivoted on a pin that was part of the pedal. The pin fit in a hole on the front of the mastercylinder. That ho;e was part of the casting. The pedal then came up through the floor.
It was easy to adapt it to a sprint car. Cut the brake pedal about 6 " in front ot the cylinder & weld a new pedal on that fit the car. That years cylinder mounted flat on the bottom. This does not look like a cylinder that mounted to the front side of a firewall, or it woul have a flange type mount.

Stupid question I should know the answer to.
Are those clamps for the steering box originally from a connecting rod end?
