Two updates. first, there are a few who have missed a week. Jim Messmer, OKCpop11x, D Town (2) ----- if these players play the rest of the way - they will be figured into the final totals in some way - actually at the end i will most likely post another column of win %. i dont want to start listing that now - this stuff takes long enough as it is. ALSO - here in the next few weeks - i'll probably stop posting everyones individual records in the overall table. instead probably just posting the leaders record - and then how many GAMES BACK everyone else is. once we get up into the hundreds it would start to look messy lol. so those are the only 2 updates for now.

just everyone make sure to have your picks in by 7pm thursday. we have both a college and pro game that night. thanks in advance

what time? ------ thats my moms B-day and we'll prob be meeting her on the north side later that night.

even though i'm only 26 - i actually embrace all those stories that annoyed me as a kid lol. i still remember names from the 80's but its neat hearing and seeing about the 60's and 70's. damn near everyday at the chili bowl i sit there for a while lookin at those pictures at the booth they are at. some really neat and fascinating stuff. in fact, the folks i get my chili bowl tickets from - they live in Fresno, CA. he was an official with the Golden State Series - but was always associated with bay area racing - especially Baylands - and i think Madera and some others. i know he was highly involved with it all for over 50 years. you talk about stories. i cant talk to the fella for less than 2 hours every time we speak - got the long distance bill to prove it. the most interesting stories are the ones he tells about a group of racetracks that were known as "the Hills" i think it was in and around Indiana and Illinois. Winchester i think was one of em. and i want to say Anderson? i dont there was a few. but some really neat, as well as tragic stories. in relation to this - anyone know of some really good racing history books? i doubt there are many that comprehensive over the nation - figure i'll just try to get multiples that cover particular areas. i suppose the obvious question is - what are good book about this areas racing history?

sorry there i go babbling. so what time ya'll meeting up?
