Looking at the old pictures from San Jose Fairgrounds brings back some fond memories of my youthful Saturday nights
Who was your favorite?

There were far too many good drivers from those days to claim a favorite. Howard Kaeding & Brent Kaeding, Nick Recino, Mike Sargent, John Viel to name just a few were always exciting to watch. Those were the days where the winners came from the back!
Here's some photos of the old fairgrounds track after it was closed

I've been looking for someone who has track photos from the old San Jose Speedway 1/3 mile pavement track for years. If anyone has pics from the old Speedway from prior to 1977 I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I can be contacted at [email protected]

My favorite driver has to be the ROCKET MAN... Rick Martin. He won alot of races, ran the top of the track where not to many drivers did, good family man ,worked hard during the week, raced hard on the weekend, my vote is for Rick Martin....

What happened to Martin? My favorite goes back to Tully Road - Nick Rescino.

I was never there but, being a fan of supermodifieds, I LOVED that blue #7 and it's orange counterpart from the Sargents.
I know this is about the drivers, but those cars hit a home run with me. I would love to have another poster like the one in OPEN WHEEL.

Don't forget Herrick's trailer after the races, with music, laser lights, disco ball & smoke machine.
