I'am coming out to Eden Prairiefor a business trip. I will be out there for 2 weeks. Im just curious what tracks are still having racing action going on during the weekend of the 9/27-9/28. I am coming out from washington state. I watch both 410/360 sprints at both Skagit speedway and Grays harbour raceway. As well as the latemodel divion at Evergreen speedway. So I'am open to any types of racing. I see that elko will be racing that weekend but just curious if there will be any other tracks or touring series running.
Thanks for the info

The Badger State Nationals at Cedar Lake, 65 miles from Eden Prairie, are scheduled for September 25-27 featuring a $12,000 to win Late Model finale on Saturday night. I love Sprint Cars but if you want to see some awesome Late Model racing close to the Twin Cities you won't want to miss this one. The Late Model racing at CLS is next to none, trust me, in spite of the 360 show at Jackson I'll be at Cedar Lake that weekend. Last weekend we had former Dream winner Jimmy Mars and WDRL points leader John Kaanta onhand as well as Brian Harris from Iowa. I expect to see two time WDRL champioin Justin Fegers, CLS track champion Brent Larson and all the best talent in the upper Midwest. There is no comparison to anything else going on that weekend.
For more information visit the Badger Nationals page on the FYE Motorsports website.
P.S.
You're one week too early or you could have attended the World of Outlaws Sprints at Brainerd and Princeton. That's another fantastic show but I can guarantee that if you attend the Badger Nationals you're not going to be dissapointed.

By the way, Elko is paved, CLS is dirt. You'll see three and four wide at CLS and an occasional two wide at Elko. No offense to the asphalt fans but to me it's like watching paint dry and my choice would be CLS.
Typical Cedar Lake action last weekend:

I've got plenty more of them if you ever stop by the campfire after the races. LOL
But seriously, "Minnesota Dirt Track Racing", what the h*ll did you expect Willie? I've got a soft spot in my heart for some of that State Fair Sprint Car racing and I really enjoyed the USAC Midgets at La Crosse. Nevertheless, I'm partial to the dirt, that's just my thing and what I'm going to steer someone towards. If you'd have seen those Legendary 100 Features last Saturday night you'd have liked them.
It was so wild they tried to tear the fence down with a Modified and the racing was top notch all night long.

Arlington still has 2 remaining nights too. 1/2 mile dirt -IMCA Sprint Cars, IMCA Mods, IMCA Stock Cars and Hobby A's & B's and Midwest Mods. Race time 6pm on Sept. 20. Then on the final day Sept 27 is the Extravaganza- Starts at 1pm-all classes plus figure 8 racing-trailer racing-chain racing-powderpuff & mechanics races - mens & woemens Enduros & it winds up with a Demo-Derby. Hope you enjoy your stay in Minn. Arlington is about 30-35 miles west of Eden Prairie. Pat

Don't even try talking this guy into going to Arlington instead of the Badger Nationals. Have you ever been to one of the big shows at CLS because if you have you wouldn't be trying to steer him anywhere else.
There's no comparison as far as the entertainment value and caliber of the Late Model racing at Cedar. We're talking the best Late Models in the upper Midwest racing for $12,000 to win. The racing there has been outstanding these past few weeks with a couple of photo finishes. I couldn't in good conscience recommend anything other than the Badger Nationals that weekend.

I wanted to make sure he goes to the biggest and best show (and probably the closest) that weekend.

Stan,
Sprints or Spam Cans?
Wow, tough choice...not!
I'll have to side with Pat on this one. Arlington it is!

Those "spam cans" put on some pretty good races. But just to put it in perspective of the five remaining nights of racing on my schedule three are Sprint Shows.

Now your talking- I like all kinds of racing too but I have to Say Sprints are by far my favorites. We used to run at Cedar Lake when they had the 360 cars there-Shaatz-Whitney-Kouba-Anderson & the guys. It was a long pull for us thru the heart of the cities -many 4 AM returns and work the next morning. Hope the Big show goes well - Pat. Was a car owner, driver, sponsor & helper since 1980- runnin with Mike Sargent in the 91 IMCA car. See you at the races-Pat.
