If anyone needs a body for a vintage super modified the is a guy in Neosho Mo thats is making them from a set of molds that came from Edmunds shops years ago. He has sold some to a few people and some had made them fit on vintage sprinters even. He told me that he can give references from people who have bought some. His email is [email protected].

I have one and the quality is excellent! I also have one from a major competitor, it is not as slick, and it cost quite a bit more.

 

I haven't met this guy in person yet, but his work is great, and his turnaround time is great too.

By the way, the one i have came in black gel-coat, making it easier to see the smooth sides.

I walk by mine all the time and see no ripples or bad spots. Also the material is thin enough to fit the next shape it goes to and yet is still durable. The cowling may be a little narrow at the cage though. Check with him and see what he has, i understand he is working on more pieces.

Some of you may know this body is right off the original Edmunds body that graced the July,1966 Hot Rod cover. I think the hood design is off of a Silver Crown car and mated to this kit for the 100" cars. The new kits have a blister on the hood for some reason, maybe from the Isaacs shop this came? Speedways hoods also have the blister, which is not shown here.

The body here is the only one ever to be made of aluminum, as it was the first one.

This cover is what started the revolution around here. Keep the curves, but have a race car body.

This car is the one that belongs to the guy who makes the bodies (Gil Jonson?). The body kit I received is every bit as much as good as the one shown here. It turns out the frame I am using is a very close copy to this one. My hood cowling is a little wider than this one and i will be using a cowling peice this outfit also makes.

To me, that makes sense. A 2 piece hood, since keeping the cowling in place helps to protect the seal and keep any flames or oil out a little bit longer. Then, just one smaller peice to tie in to the nose. I'm not one who likes removing a bulky hood, i prefer a small one these days. But the one that comes from the Edmunds molds is a work of art anyway. They are slick!
