Maybe it's Lasoski who's selling it - if he gets $60K for it, it would be $60K more than he got for being the one & only NST Champ.

Everyone except Racefan41 has missed the humor of the auction. The seller is Susquehanna Speedway promoter Todd Fisher, who said last year that he lost $60,000 on the NST shows at his track and all he got out of the deal was an NST hat -- hence, the cost of what he actually paid for that hat. LOL

buying that hat for $60K probably still provides a better chance for a return on your investment than a few shares of DIRT stock would...

Well very poor taste from a guy that signed the contract and took on the risk.

With the untimely death of Fred Brownfield what was the cost that we all paid? What cost must his widow, his sons and daughters, his grandchildren, his friends, his family and his fans pay? Let alone the employees of his three companies, his vendors, suppliers etc... etc.... etc...

Very tasteless act from a classless @$$hole!

I have to agree with mtroy. Fred was the greatest promoter in the northwest. He treated us racefans with great respect. I enjoyed every Northern/National sprint tour race that I attended. Fred, brought a great deal of stability to sprint car racing in the northwest. Fred, and his family will be always be remembered by myself.

PS Gary and Dawne, two of the best sprint car owners in the business.....

You may be right about Gary Pender putting up some of the cash for the NST races at Susky. Fisher has always stuck with the claim that the NST was a $60,000 loss for Susky. But you have been to central PA enough to know that you really have to be a lousy Sprint Car promoter to make the fans of central PA hate you as much as Fisher is disliked in the area. I remember after the NST flop at Susky last year, Fisher was quoted in a local newspaper as saying fans would rather watch school bus racing than see Steve Kinser race. By the time of the NST race at Susky, Fisher had long since alienated most of the local fans and teams to the point that many would not support him no matter what he did.

Fisher's a jackass, runs his facility like a playground bully, and has no social skills of note...he's also been known to run his mouth, and seems to enjoy the taste of his own foot. Maybe this was the "ass kickin'" he's had coming for several years???

If he lost 60k on his two day show, I'd bet it a.) wasn't all his (I think he still owes me for a dinner and drinks at the Montrose House) and b.) it was because no one wanted to subject themselves to his B.S. and run SSP.

Fred Brownfield and Todd Fisher in the same thread......sorry Debbie! Fred was a god among mere mortals.

I would agree with the assessment of Fisher in this thread, but I think folks are taking this way too seriously. He had 700 people show up (rumor has it) to one NST show, it was a financial disaster, as were some of the WoO shows run in PA that year. PA fans didn't like the split, it was bad for PA promoters and that was that.

Glad to see Fisher can find some humor in the situation.
