I was just wondering what are some of the signs someone is running it? Do you think many teams have it?

If they're using tire softening compound, nitreous oxide, and wool socks and they're beating whoever is your favorite racer, then it's obvious they are using TC. Ask any internet expert.
Talent- I think all the teams are using it.

Years ago some of the top late model drivers in the country (pretty sure it was the top Rocket Chassis drivers) were asked to come out to test traction control and the consensus from all of them was there are too many variables in dirt track racing and ever changing surfaces to be effective and most test sessions they were faster on the clock without it. This was published in one of the racing rags years ago.

The best traction control you have in a sprint car is what's between a driver ears and is connected to his right foot GM

I won't mention the name obviously but a driver who is a multi time track champion & one of the best in the history of central PA tried it back in the late 90's. He took it off after his heat race. He hated it. He felt he could actually do a better job pedaling the car than the traction control. This isn't a rumor, it came straight from the source.

It's funny no one ever mentions "trail braking", it's very common in all classes on dry slick race tracks.
It's the technique of using the brakes (mostly rear) to keep the rear axle stable in the turns when the torque overcomes traction of the dirt surface. It's not a new thing,I believe the better drivers have always used it. I remember as a kid at Knoxville watching Roger Rager's rear rotors glow bright red on the nights when moisture went away. No doubt other guys did it too but I just remember his the best.
Now you see almost every one of the top runners using the brakes in the corners, it isn't so much to slow down, it's to keep the rear end from passing the front. The best guys are using both pedals to corner quickly, it isn't all horsepower.
My 2 cents: The modern sprint car is still a fairly simple piece of engineering, I think almost any version of traction control would be tough to hide. Same as weight, fuel, tire doping, engines, etc. If the sanctioning bodies want to find it, they can.

Traction Control has been tried but in most cases discarded. The lifetime ban at Knoxville has never had to be enforced. Big motors, special fuel.traction control and tire treatment have all been used but the run what you brung days are long gone as major sponsors dont want to be associated with controversy .Richard Pettys 200th and last win still stands.

What's between his ears ? Nope, it's more like what's between his legs and the feeling in the cheeks of his a**. I no some guys that took the padding out of seats because it gave those cheeks a different feel. Bobby Allen was the master of dragging the pedal.

If they're running a traveling series moe than likely they're running it. They need to hand out MSD boxes every show to end cheating
