(PETERSEN MEDIA)- Front Row Challenge Enterprises is excited to bring racing to Park Jefferson International Speedway on April 25th where fans will be greeted with Winged 410 Sprint Cars and IMCA Mods at the Open Wheel Nationals presented by Real-Geese Silhouette.

“With everything sitting idle and much of the world in a day-to-day phase, we are excited to bring a little bit of normalcy back to the racing world,” FRC Ent, LLC’s Terry McCarl said. “While it won’t quite be a normal raceday, we have been watching South Dakota’s guidelines to ensure we are in line with their mandates and we are extremely excited about racing on April 25th.”

On the Open Wheel Nationals card will be Winged 410 Sprint Cars which will race for $5000-to-win, as well as IMCA Modifieds who will be gunning for the $1000 top prize. In an effort to practice Social Distancing, both classes will be limited to just 32 cars per class with a $50 pre entry fee to ensure a spot, as well as a transponder. For those wanting to partake in the event, please register at http://www.parkjeff.com/downloads/get.aspx?i=576959.

While the entries are limited, those admitted in the pits will also be limited as no walk-up patrons will be allowed. Each team will be allotted just 10 people total to sign in under their car number, so if fans are not with a team, please do not attempt to enter the pit area. Those who are in the pit area will not be permitted to go to the main grandstands during the night, so please bring food and beverage as pit concessions will also not be open.

The main grandstands will be open to the public in a limited quantity with tickets available for $25. For those fans that are at high risk of the current virus, or those who are feeling under the weather, please stay home as this race will also be streamed LIVE on SpeedShiftTV. Tickets are available via online sales only by clicking over to www.parkjeff.com.
The direct link for tickets is https://market.myracepass.com/store/tickets/?i=1205022&store=10866

For those fans that are able to attend the race, FRC Ent., LLC and Park Jefferson encourage you to take precautions to keep yourself safe while at the race. While the concession stand will be open, it will also be very limited so be mindful in your raceday preparations.

While the IMCA Modifieds will run their standard IMCA format, the Winged 410 Sprint Cars will utilize the weekly Knoxville Raceway format. Team’s will qualify, before running heat races with a 6-car invert. With points up for grabs in heats, the Top-8 in points after heats will redraw for the feature event.

“We have received a lot of good feedback from some really strong teams about this event, and we look forward to releasing the entries as they come in,” McCarl said. “We continue to work with city officials to make sure we are in compliance and are very much looking forward to racing.”

Very interested to see how this pans out. Feel like 10 pit passes per car is a bit much - 32 teams in two classes puts 640 people in the pits. I don't know how many teams would bring that many but that seems like a lot of people for any pit area.

Personally, I think this is not a good idea and I hope that nothing goes wrong with it, if it will even happen.

640 people not counting officials in the pits with 6' social distancing guidelines? I'm no math PhD but I don't think that's gonna work, even if it was at Indy.

$10 says it will never happen.

I will support this with a PPV buy.  I'd hazard a guess that 64 cars spread out over  a pit area can maintain distancing.  The press release mentioned very limited attendance.  I bet there will be more people in close proximity to each other in big city super markets than will be in close proximity here.  Also, it is outdoors.

I believe I saw that they are limiting grandstand attendance to 700 at this race.

Got to hand it to Terry McCarl for having the guts to take a chance on this deal, thumbs up T Mac!

Only an hour away I will be real tempted to attend this deal, God knows at this rate might be my only chance to see a dirt track race all year. frown

So Terry McCarl, a promoter that has never once allowed a live stream at any of his previous races and who has made it obvious and clear that he wants no part of having his events live streamed has just suddenly decided it would be OK?  It is really sad that it took a pandemic along with a chance to fill his pocket-book for him to have this sudden awakening and think it is a good thing.  Please remember this once we get back to normal and the live-streams are once again not allowed at his events.

I live in Springfield IL & can assure you if Knoxville is able to run (& no one around our area does), I will be paying them a visit every few weeks.  4 hour drive not withstanding!

My dad mentioned the exact same thing as you about the backstretch of Knoxville. We like the backstretch better anyhow!!! Point IADIRT again! Take that "not flu" that sounds an awful lot like "the flu."

Maybe he's seen the light? wink

In the words of those international philosophers AC/DC "Come on, come on, listen to the money talk.."

Terry races for a living. Right now his income is probably something near $0.00. Maybe he's trying something different to change that. Can you blame him? Maybe the guy needs to be appluded by race fans and racers. I guess the other option would be for everyone to sit home and feel sorry for themselves.

Personally, I applaud TMAC for his efforts.  As mentioned above I will support this event.  Probably gonna buy me some McCarl merch as well to show my support.

He will need PPV to make any money and with no other races in the country PPV could be huge. Gate and pit passes should cover purse, track rental, employees, track prep, insurance, ect. I don't think he will get 10 people per car since you can't go in the grandstands and view from the pits is very limitied. I'm 70 miles away but will propbably watch from home.

Maybe I missed it, but for the grandstands they should do advanced ticket sales only so not to turn people away and so people don't need to show up and stand in a line.

it is promising that on speedshift Facebook page they said they've worked with state officials. Let's just hope the media doesn't get wind of it as they plus the social media mob will put pressure on the state to shut it down.

Ya I have seen a lot of big mod names. I saw Thomas Kennedy trying to get a pardon to come from Canada to race. Past that I really haven't seen many sprints sadly though my gut says enough will come. Maybe not 32. Anyone feel free to post as they see confirmations and I'll try and do the same.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the reasoning for no PPV at the Osky races is to avoid everyone streaming it to their campsites in Knoxville. Makes sense to me. One person could pay for the live stream and 25 of their campground neighbors could pull up a chair and watch for free.

I suspect that most crews are going to be 4 or less.

So lets put 4 guys into a crewcab for a couple hours going to and from the event, what could go wrong?    Probably nothing. But if I was a wife of a crew member with a couple kids at home I would think twice about letting them go.

Same with a couple buds who decide to ride to the event together.

If this event was a mile from my house... I would pass on it.
