Any advice or tips on where to sit? With no trailers in the infield I'm sure there's probably no sight restrictions. Would an aisle seat be ideal? Is sitting at the top too high? (I know those grandstands are huge). Is frontstrech or backstretch better? Also, is it neccessary to buy a 4 day package or maybe just a 2 day for the weekend? It looks like thursday and Friday there's plenty of room to sit. I ask because I'd like to sit in a few different spots throughout the week. Any help would be appreciated for this first timer.

You can definetly try out a couple of different spots on Wednesday and Thursday. I'd spend one night on the front stretch and one on the back stretch. Most of the high seats are taken for Saturday anyway, but you don't need to sit high. I sit on the very bottom row of the back stretch coming right out of turn 2 and love it.

There's really no bad seat in the house. Keep in mind that if you're on the isle you're moving around more for people getting in and out of your row, and obviously the higher up, the further away you are from the concessions, and restrooms.
People used to hang out in the isle b/c the lack of space however Knoxville added more room so it's more comfortable and not as tight of a squeeze.
If you wanted to have a specific spot I'd for sure reserve Saturday, possibly Friday. Wednesday and Thursday you can usually move around at least in the middle to lower rows. If it's just you, you can probably find, a seat here or there higher up.
The front strech is further away from the track, but you get to see all the fanfare at the winners circle vs looking on a large screen to see what's going on.
If you're able, I'd recommend going all 10 days between Osky and Knoxville.

Sat about 3/4 the way up right behind the Flagstand for many years and it was awesome seating (probably hard to get here now)
The last 8 years or so we have sat 2/3 of the way up in Section R on the Backstretch and we love it back there as well.
You are a lot closer to the track on the backstretch (or so it seems) and it is a lot easier to get out after the races.
I would suggest going up at least 10-15 rows as there are some minor obstructions in the pit area. Myself I want a clear view of the whole track

This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I'm just gonna get a 4 day package and then Wednesday and Thursday maybe venture around to different seats if any are open. Probably get a couple pit passes too. Thanks a lot fellas.

Yeah man already had my sights set on section P next to the BC suite tower. Always thought that area looked cool back there and I'm sure watching of the cars coming out of turn 2 are pretty sick. Can't wait to get there and it's only March...thanks FORD

I will second Ford97's comments on Section P. I have sat right against the fence for most years since 1994. I was a little slow with my ticket order this year waiting for some friends to confirm that they are attending so I will be off the fence by two seats. These are among the best seats at the Raceway.

You'll definitely be able to move around Wed and Thurs especially near turn 4 as it's nowhere near as filled up as it does near the flagstand.
I like section E right behind the flagstand for Fri and Sat but definitely enjoy moving around earlier in the week.

For years I sat in Section D either rows 10,11 or 12 on the eastern most aisle. You could see great, could see over the flag man. You can see the back stretch and turns fine plus close to the action. Never really had any trouble makers in that area.
