Hate to say it but I just went to my last all star race. BAPS Speedway Great racing until the A main. Crash on lap one. Top 3 cars from PA get dq because a crew member left a designated area in the infield Didn't come on the track but moved out of an area in the infield
Really. DQ for that. Not put to the rear but DQ
Half the fans got up and left and this one will.not return

So we’re mad that people got disqualified for doing something they were explicitly told they would be disqualified for if it happened. 19 teams didn’t have a problem following the rules.

The Dq was ridiculous. No argument there. But let's not blame the All Stars for BAPS still not being able to run a sprint car show. Kolten Gouse..... when are you gonna wake the F up and fix this issue It's the same shit as when Todd Fisher owned the place. Its takes BAPS 3 times longer to clear a caution then any other track in the country. We dont care about the fake clay you put down. Or the stupid suites. The place is still ran like a circus. Everytime sprints are there it's a shit show. Get it together.

Except apparently it’s not spelled out clearly in the rulebook and there is video of the drivers meeting on Facebook where it was not mentioned the way the series is insisting it was. I want to see this video.

This “video” that is getting posted is a 12 second clip where the official says “there is 4 green cones inside of turn 1, that’s where your crew members can be all night long“.
Now im not arguing that DQ isnt an excessive punishment, because it is.

It's hard to choose just one, but my favorite bonehead All Star rule is on jumped starts. Jump from 2nd? No problem! Stay in the front row where you were and go again. Jump a second time? Now we penalize you, and, we penalize the leader who did nothing wrong (or vice versa 1/2).
Any driver who doesn't try to get a jump from the front row is not a smart driver, because there is no reason whatsoever to not try to jump when there is no penalty if you are caught.
Totally idiotic rule. Add another dumb rule tonight, with occasional and random enforcement.

I wasnt there. I only saw 12 seconds of video but regardless if a person says you can "be there all night long" it is not correct to assume everyone understands an alternate of not being there is punishable. The words " you can not leave" or a similar statement need to be spoken. The rule is to restrain movement from an area but the spoken word in the video gives permission to enter an area. Huge difference. Exchange the word must to where he said can and it makes a lot of difference.
I will add that the original poster and others who disagree with the enforcement may have more success with a kindly written letter or rehearsed phone call to the rule enforcer pointing out the importance of being clear enough that wrong assumptions can not be made.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

The posse names don't matter who got disqualified last night. The Allstars didn't do anything when there owner got out of the car on the track earlier this year. Isn't that a rule violation too? I guess that is the old double standard........
As a matter of fact the Allstars sweep it under the rug....no press release.....no dq....not even a suspension? I am not saying anything about last night but a rule is a rule, we just don't follow the ones we want to or for that matter.....who it is either. Tony has them between a rock and a hard place.
What happens if the Posse members boycott the Allstars? That might be the bigger question. I for one wouldn't blame them. The way it looks they lost a lot of fans last night.....leaving early.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Actually, Tony WAS fined for that incident. It's on their website.

Actually they did fine Tony per what is laid out in their rule book and issued a bulletin about it. Was it front page, no, but they followed their posted rules. This is no comment on what happened at BAPS, as I was not there.

So if the penalty for the rule was, car goes to the rear of the field, you and all the rest of the PA fans bitching about this are going to be ok with it ?? I'd be willing to bet, not ....
As far as Tony goes, nothing was swept under the rug. They followed their rules and punished by fine. It’s out there for everyone to see on the Allstars site ....
Rules are rules and it’s a tough pill to swallow. When they were announcing the DQ's, I was just hoping my drivers name wasn't called. If it was it would have sucked, but I wasn't going to turn to social media and bash the Allstars ...
Hell, my drivers axle snapped and totaled his car. Do I go after the axle manufacture on social media and talk mad shit about them and their product's ?? No, it is what it is ....

Two things here.......
1. Multiple drivers have mentioned that in the meeting it WAS talked about, but at NO point was a DQ mentioned.
2. If the ASCoC really thought they were 100% in the right, why the tweet later saying that they were already looking into the rule and adjusting it (or something along those lines, I can't remember the exact wording). So why back peddle on it if, as the Posse bashers are saying, a rule is a rule.
I think it is BS what they did, especially when it eliminated the fastest cars and certainly the ones that could have beaten the All Stars. Coincidence, maybe, but I bet some tin foil hats will think not.

I'm disappointed with a product I purchased. As with any similar situation I let the company hear my displeasure, and informed them I wont be purchasing again. I've been to my last ASCOC show.

Kyle Larson was DQ'd for a similar incident this year at an All-Star race at Joliet. His crew member came out to talk to him. HOWEVER, he was not DQ'd because the crew member came out to talk to him............he was DQ'd because the crew member left the designated area. This was in July. Do the All-Stars have it out for Kyle Larson too? I don't think so.
I would agree a DQ of a driver is maybe too strict of a penalty. However, at some point I would like to see people in this country go back to taking responsibility for not following the rules and accept the punishment whatever it may be.

However, what if each of those drivers DID tell their crew members. And maybe one of them wasn't listening, or maybe two. So you will DQ the driver for doing what he was supposed to do and the crew member not listening. Yeah, a bit much for sure and now Tony Stewart is vowing a change too. Yeah, ASCoC back peddling quickly now.

Rules are rules. Regardless of a dq or not, its a rule that was stated at the drivers meeting. I remember when Logan got dqd for not scaling at Knoxville. People said they should have let it slide. Sucked for him and his team but rules are rules.
