Confirmation?

I was $50K last year. Was a bit weird that the 50/50 winner took home more than the winning driver.

Eldora's email for ticket renewals... They replaced all the S's throughout the email with dollar signs ($). Then they even made a point on twitter pointing out there was indeed six "$"... suggesting 6-figure pay day.

According to their schedule on the Eldora website, Jokers wild is 10K, Knight before is 12K, and Kings royal is still 50K to win. Who knows whether or not that may change, but I am thinking that they mean an A-Main purse of over 100K if that is what they are implying.

Doubt that as the A Main purse the past 3-4 seasons has been 177,500. I think the top 5 payout totals 100k. Not sure if they will make it winner gets 100k or if they are adding more through the field. The little queues that they have been given seem to make everyone think it will be 100k since Mansfield SCWC is now 100k.

The purse is well over 100k. That is not what they meant. I read an official press release that says the winner will collect over 100k for the first time ever. I am sure of it.

I figured it was. I just don't know why if there was an official press release on the winner getting over $100k, why the Eldora website still says $50k to win on the Kings Royal information page. Like I said, who know if that will change in the future or not as well. I do hope it is over $100k to win, we need more races like that in all honesty!

If you go the Eldora website there is a tab for news and media. Pull it down and there ia a tab for news releases. It is the first press release shown from Jan 22nd confirming 2019 dates. Towards the end of the press release it states it will be over 100K for the first time ever. I would post a link if I knew how.

This seems long overdue. Didnt the Historical Big One pay this years ago?

Depends on how you look at it.  While the historical big one paid 100k to win years ago, I don't think it made as much money for the track (can't really remember the reasoning Earl gave in his book).

I actually prefer what Eldora did a few years ago and added money throughout the field rather than just adding to the winners share. I remember last year everyone talking about SCWC being a better paying race but in all actuality, it only paid more for 1 spot than the Kings Royal, 1st. Both races paid 20k for 2nd and every spot down the Kings Royal paid more per position.

I'm glad to have both races in my area and they are great races. But it is funny how sometimes we associate how good the payout is just based on winners share, when it should be based overall

While what you're saying is true, KR pays better throughout the field... but SCWC is still respectable. Some people act like its peanuts after the winner's share.

SCWC is respectable, maybe even more so. I think you have had people argue that both races don't pay well for some arguement another but they are actually two of the better paying shows in the country the whole year.

Right. They don't stack up against the Nationals but both are literally better than any other sprint car race in the country. Knoxville homers hate the idea there are other crown jewel races in our sport.

Long overdue?!  While the winners share has stayed the same, the purse certainly has not.  2 years ago they put over $100k into the purse from 2nd on back.

The Historical Big One did pay $100,000.00 to win.....and $12,000.00 for second if memory serves me correctly. It had a piss poor payout imo. The Knoxville Nationals, the Kings Royal and the Jackson Nationals do have one thing in common....they are paying back through the feild much better than the other recognized sprint car events. Of course the Knoxville Nationals has paid out deep for a lot of years.

You don't have a clue as to what Knoxville "homers" like or don't like! The big events are what help keep the sport successful and the Knoxville fans like fans most everywhere understand that.

Yeah but Earl had the Royal and The Big One within the same year. Bad purse or not, i'm guessing the drivers would like to have that one back on the schedule.
