Josh Schneiderman – Resetting for an All Star Weekend

Des Moines, IA (July 25, 2018) – After a rough outing on Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway, Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports team are looking ahead to two nights of racing with the All Stars! The World of Wheels #49 will take to the track on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, before Sunday night at 34 Raceway, where “The Professor” will look to capitalize on some homefield advantage.

The night would get off to a slow start for the Deuce Motorsports team, as Josh would wrap up qualifying in the 21st spot out of the 33-car field. “I made a mistake in qualifying and that left us playing catch-up in the points,” said Josh.

After the invert, Josh would roll off on the front row of his heat, which provided some good racing early between him and the #39, piloted by Spencer Bayston. “We had a good race going early with Bayston,” said Josh. “The car felt pretty solid, but then I slipped up a little bit and that allowed Austin [McCarl] to get by. Once that happened, it became a bit of a trickle-down effect, as I jumped the cushion and [Brian] Brown got by as well.”

With a rough qualifying effort and 4th-placed finish in his heat, “The Professor” wound up being the first car outside of the A-main, but was able to maneuver the Universal Therapy Group #49 to a B-main victory. “I was able to get the win in the B and felt like the car was running pretty strong,” said Schneiderman. “At the start of the feature, the car felt like it was running well, but the cushion was definitely the preferred line.”

After making some laps in the main event, Josh would be forced to an early exit after a knock to the helmet. “A few laps in, I had something come through the rock screen with enough force that it fully bent it back,” said Josh. “It pushed it back far enough that it was in my face and the clod of dirt, or whatever it was, had actually hit me in the head.”

Schneiderman took it as a sign to bring a tough night to a close. “I had been a pretty rough night from the moment we unloaded the car,” said Josh. “I made the decision to load her up and reset for this coming weekend.”

This weekend will bring two big nights of racing when the All Stars Circuit of Champions arrive at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night, before making their way back to Schneiderman’s home track of 34 Raceway in West Burlington on Sunday. “It’s always nice to only have a two-minute commute from home to a race,” said Josh. “We’ve always had pretty good runs in our 410 at 34 and hopefully that holds true on Sunday!”
