Most of my sprint car news comes from the WoO website and about 5% of what i read here. (sorry but the 95% name calling and cancer debate isnt extremely educational to me)
Seems to me Jacob Allen qualifies well but cant stay up front. Tonight it would have been nice to see if he could have held it without the caution. Congrats on passing Schatz. What is 1A's downfall?
Schuchart was fast earlier in the year but Jacob seems to be in the lime light more of late. Any theories on the shift of success?
Marks also seems to be fast or slow but not really in between. Two races in a row where he was almost untouchable and straight back to mediocre.
With my poor eye sight and poor long distance vision these 3 seem to be doing much more of late than may have been expected yet no one seems to be talking about them. Are they doing as good as i say or am i off track?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Which race was Marks mediocre in? Last night he went 20th to 5th, and he's almost always moving forward in the A mains.
In Jacob's case, I'd say its a case of him finally getting enough experience and having confidence in himself. When they went on the road, he only had like a year or so of 410 experience here locally in PA. That is a steep learning curve. Its great to see how far he's come.

I was rooting for all the Pa. guys.... Allen's performance last nite was a perfect example of the "i'd rather be behind" theory
Why has Jacob improved more than Schuchart? more room to improve... once you get near the top, going gets tougher
I have no idea why he faded last nite... never drove or set up a sprint car (maybe tires were worn out???)

I could give you 430 reasons. But then again, the WoO would never allow this to happen now, would they? It would be bad for their image, right?

Here we go again... why haven't other racers protested & asked for an inspection?

Crazy aint it? How some people just can't accept that a driver can have a competitive streak seem to come out all of a sudden. Marks has shown plenty of times that he has good equipment and good skills in a sprint car. I'm seldom surprised by what anybody does these days, no different than in years past. It's a dirt surface....set up and tire selection mean nearly everything on some given nights. More power to the guy who isn't "included" in the "conversation" every night, when he hits the right set up! I hope it continues for him!

Shark
Jacob had a great run last night. He went 9th to second in 9 laps then faded. I'm glad there is a Shark thread here.
I've questioned their equipment and thought that maybe last year Logan got the good parts and Jacob got the leftovers. They've gotten some more sponsorship so maybe they have better equipment this year. But that is just a theory from here on the porch. I hope Jacob gets a WoO win soon. I remember the joy after he earned his first and only 410 victory at the final PA sprint car race in 2016 after he passed Dewease in the dash and then held him off for the entire feature. That car was pretty much white and aluminum and hardly had any decals on it other than "1A".
Marks
In an interview Johnny Gibson recently said that Brent has won more "KSE Hard Charger awards" than anybody else but I forget whether the time period was last year, this year, or both. His results were similar in PA before he joined the Outlaws. Lots of passing in the features but he rarely qualified well. It is a shame he had a flat during the Doty but I think he may have had another problem later after they replaced the tire.
Regardless, it is good to see Sharks & Marks having success and mixing it up with the leaders !

Always like to pick an underdog to root for. Last two nights went with Allen and Marks. I think they both continue to move forward and learn. Hoping Allen gets that first so soon.

I thought after last season that Logan was ready for a breakout year with a lot more wins and top 5 point contender but so far it hasn't gone that way. He definitely has a lot of talent but it goes to show how tough it is to stay on top.

I saw a stat online recently (can't find the link) that BM has the best "positions gained vs positions loss" +/- of anyone on tour thus far this year with like a +136 positions or something. Now that stat can be skewed because guys that consistently start up front are gonna have less chance at a + stat, but still it shows that he does and can pass cars in the A which he consistently does. His problem (and he's admitted it) is with qualifying. I say "problem" but what I mean is just an area to improve.

Marks was hard charger again last night at Lincoln. He started 2nd in the B-Main, won it, and ended up 8th in the Feature. I hope there is a nice award at the end of the year for the driver who passes the most cars in a season.

talked to Mark's crew @ Silver Cup ... hurt good engine Jokers Wild (5 laps into the A-main), running 1 with 16 races on it @ Cup & last 1 belongs in a washing machine ...

As I told a disappointed with qualifying Jacob at the Shark T Shirt trailer the other night, he's come a long, long way from a pieced together 358 car on a single axle landscape trailer pulled by a Ford Ranger in just six short years.
Marks - not as far, but still a long way.
Marks has opened the door - Jacob's been knocking.
I still can't believe that Shark Racing has made it this far, this long. There's hope for the little guys.

Got home about 6 hrs after Weedsport wrapped up so missed the dirtvision coverage and was quite pleased after checking the WoO results page.
Pleasantly surprised to see Marks get his second. Started looking for Schatz...looking.....looking. I see 1A earn the 3rd...nice for him too.
What happened to Donny to miss TTs or did he swap cars with Brent? Just joking.

The big engine theory was definitly blown out of the water when Marks lapped up to 8th spot at Weedsport. Anyone that knows anything about Weedsport knows that big horsepower/big cubic inches is not your friend there.
