TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY’S “SPRINT STAMPEDE” IS ON THE HORIZON

     Haubstadt, IN - July 11, 2018 -  Tri-State Speedway will be the
destination for the “Sprint Stampede” Saturday night July 14th.   The
non-wing Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will be in action
along with the stars of the MOWA wing sprints and the MMSA mini
sprints.  The quarter mile facility will be offering an all sprint
car program.   This race with it’s varied classes has something for
one and all sprint car race fans.

This is year number six for the “Sprint Car Stampede.”  The “Sprint
Stampede” is the next of  7 races left on the MSCS schedule.  Carson
Short has reassumed the lead in the series standings.  Brandon Mattox
holds down the second spot.  Both are in quest of that first series
title.  Mattox is trailing by just 4 points.  Donny Brackett is also
in the hunt and stands third in the standings.  Kent Schmidt and Aric
Gentry round out the top five.

Carson Short and Kevin Thomas Jr. lead the MSCS feature winner’s list
this season with two victories each.  Short posted wins in May and
June.  Thomas won the first two races of the season.  Thomas finished
second and Short third at Putnamville last weekend.  Justin Grant won
the “Bill Gardner Sprintacular” that night for his first MSCS feature
victory.  He joined Stephen Schnapf as first time winners with the
series this season.

Thomas Meseraull, Chase Stockon, and Tyler Courtney have also been in
victory lane this season.  Nine features at five tracks have produced
seven different winning drivers.  A number of potential winners dot
the starting line-up at each MSCS event.  Twenty-one start but there
is only one winner!

The stars of the Built Ford Tough Midwest Open Wheel Association will
be making their second and last appearance of this season at
Haubstadt.  This 410 series is active in providing wing sprint car
racing at tracks in Illinois with additional stops in Iowa, Missouri,
and Indiana.  The tour is delivered by Morrow Brothers.

Jacob Patton Of Bethalto, IL is listed as the MOWA points leader.
In their first appearance at Tri-State Speedway this season Mike
Terry Jr. of Plainfield, IN won the feature.  Last year Hoosier
based drivers Parker Price-Miller and Kody Kinser won the two
features held.

The MMSA mini sprints last competed at Tri-State Speedway on Memorial
Day Weekend.  The winner that night was Cody Trammel.  Bradley Strunk
and Chayse Hayhurst were second and third in the feature.

Racing Saturday at Tri-State Speedway begins at 7:30 Central Daylight
Time.  Warm-ups take place at 6 P.M.  It is a triple header you will
not want to miss!
