Josh Schneiderman – Locked and Loaded for the Busy Week Ahead!

Des Moines, IA (July 5, 2018) – After an up and down weekend with the World of Outlaws at the Knoxville Raceway, Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports team are looking forward to a busy week that will kickoff this Saturday at the Knoxville Raceway. “The Professor” will run five races in 8 nights, including the Brad Doty Classic and all three nights of the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway!

Friday night’s show kicked off with “The Professor” laying down a solid lap in qualifying, setting him up well to advance to the night’s main event. “We qualified really well on Friday considering the competition that we were up against,” said Josh. “It was a good enough lap to start us where we just needed to hang strong in the heat to transfer to the A-main.”

Schneiderman would do one better in his heat, moving up a spot and locking himself into the feature. “We had a really good run in our heat and were able to get up to fourth,” said Josh. “It felt good to put it in the show on Friday night after a bit of a rough go of it the weekend before.”

The A-main would see Josh’s dual-role of driver and car-owner get the best of him. “My car-owner gene definitely came out during the feature,” said Schneiderman. “We were running mid-pack, but I pulled in about 7 laps into the race to save the motor, as we had another night left and that’s the engine we’re planning on running when we head out to Ohio in a couple weeks.”

An early exit left the Deuce Motorsports team with a 24th-place finish and, in hindsight, Josh wishes he would have stayed on the track to see how far he could have climbed in the World of Wheels #49. “Looking back at it now, I would have stayed out and tried to score a top ten,” said Schneiderman. “It’s an accomplishment to grab a top ten with the Outlaws and seeing now how Saturday ended up, it would have been cool to see where we could have finished.”

Saturday night started out rough for Josh, admitting to a driver error in time trials, before engine troubles bogged him down in his heat race. “We qualified pretty terribly on Saturday,” said Josh. “I should have run the bottom, but we ended up pretty deep in the field and we broke an electrode off the spark plug in the heat race, which killed our chances of making a run at a transfer spot. It’s hard enough to beat those guys when you have all eight cylinders firing, but when you’re on seven it’s nearly impossible!”

A couple pieces of bad luck came together after the heat to leave the Deuce Motorsports team scrambling to get the car to staging before the B-main. “The broken electrode was on the eighth spark plug, so, of course, the last one that we checked when trying to see what was wrong,” said “The Professor”. “Between that and Knoxville rushing through the show due to the threat of rain, we were late to staging for the B and ended up having to start 18th.”

While starting buried deep in the B-main field, Schneiderman mounted a valiant effort and came within shouting distance of a transfer. “The car actually felt great in the B-main after we got the motor fixed,” said Josh. “We made a strong run up through the field, but ended up with 7th. It was a bit of a letdown after Friday night, but all-in-all not a terrible weekend.”

Josh and the Deuce Motorsports team will be back in action at Knoxville Raceway this Saturday night, though the team is starting to look forward to the big week that will follow. “After Knoxville this Saturday, we’ll be getting our gear ready for a road trip out east to Ohio,” said Schneiderman. “We’re going to leave on Monday afternoon for Attica Raceway Park to run the Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday, then head over to Eldora for the three nights of the Kings Royal.”

With it being the first trip for the Universal Therapy Group #49 to both tracks, the team is keeping their expectations pretty low, but looking forward to a fun week. “I really have no expectations for our trip to Ohio,” said Josh. “We’re just excited to race on some new tracks, meet a lot of new people, and if we’re able to make a show or two that will be the cherry on top.”
