Tim Alberding Wins WSS Event At Cottage Grove Speedway

Cottage Grove, Oregon- For the second occasion in 2018 the Wingless Sprint Series paid a visit to Cottage Grove Speedway. The WSS would return to the famed ¼-mile clay oval on Saturday, May 19th. Nineteen entries would be in attendance representing the states of Oregon, Washington, and California.
At the end of the night Tim Alberding would reign supreme over the field. It would be the first win of 2018 for the Salem chauffeur and his first career Wingless Sprint Series triumph. Tim also became the third different winner in as many races with the tour thus far in the current campaign.
Thurston’s Ricky Ashley would finish in second over Rob Lindsey, of Sherwood, in third. The rest of the top five would be made up of Guy Weedman, out of the central Oregon town of Moro, in fourth while grabbing fifth was Aloha’s Brad Rhodes. Weedman would pass the most amount of cars earning himself the Hardcharger Award presented by Speedmart Inc.
Earlier in the program Vern Scevers would pick up the Maxline Custom Cases Fast Time Award and winning the Trophy Dash was Tim Alberding. Heat race victories went to Ricky Ashley, Rob Lindsey, and Alberding.
The Wingless Sprint Series heads to Grays Harbor Raceway this Saturday, May 26th. It will be the first trip of the season north of the Columbia River for the group. For tickets and times information log on to www.graysharborraceway.com.
