BRODY ROA TO RACE PETER MURPHY CLASSIC SATURDAY IN TULARE!
(Buena Park, CA, May 18, 2018) After a week off spent in San Francisco at his sister Mallory’s graduation from college, Brody Roa will be back in action this Saturday, May 19th, at the “5th Annual Peter Murphy Classic” at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.
This coming weekend was supposed to be an off weekend as well, but a call came from the Mike Phulps team with an offer of a ride in Saturday’s USAC West Coast Series race. Roa jumped at the opportunity to drive the famous #56 sprint car. Two years ago, at the opening night of the “Peter Murphy Classic” in Tulare, Roa finished second to the same #56 Phulps owned car in the main event.
It will be the Garden Grove, California drivers fourth appearance in the West Coast Series in 2018. In the previous three outings, he has wins at Las Vegas and Hanford. In his other attendance in the series, which also came at Las Vegas, he was running in second when a broken part forced him out of the main.
Saturday’s race in Tulare comes hot on the heels of Roa’s win in the USAC/CRA Series at the Ventura Raceway on May 5th. That victory brought him to within nine points of first place heading into the Memorial Day weekend “Salute to Indy” at Perris Auto Speedway on May 26th.
