My last check they are calling anywhere from a 40 - 50% chance of rain on Friday and a 20 - 40% chance of Rain on Saturday. Does anyone know if they have a plan if either night rains out? I have a hotel booked but i haven’t purchased tickets yet and i can cancel my room without a fee if i do it before midnight tonight. Not sure if i want to roll the dice or cancel now without any lost money and just go to Williams Grove and Port instead.

In my eyes theres a 50-60% chance that it won't rain on Friday and a 60-80% chance it won't rain on Saturday...You gotta live man, don't base your race plans on the Hoseheads weather team :D

You're not gonna need a motel room.... you gonna be at the track all night.

Prior to Saturday morning having rain in the forcast... I asked Sommer on twitter if Friday's program could possibly be ran early Saturday. He "liked" the tweet. Im guessing they are just playing this as they go since they've announced zero plans of a rain date.

Question for those of you who have been to Mansfield since it went back to dirt, what are the concession proces like? Are we talking Eldora prices for food and beer or Charlotte prices for food and beer?

Prices are irrelevant if they are out of stuff when you go thru the line Like last fall

Ohio weather makes my head explode. I would never have the stomach to be a promoter, you would have to be mentally insane.

Accuweather is calling for showers around 2pm and a total of 0.04in of rain...IF that's the case it definitely is not a showstopper. I hope that the little front they anticipate moves through nice and early in the day.

Weather channel thinks it will rain between 3-7pm, not sure on total.

That is good to know. We plan on cooking both days before we head in to the races, but I know you can't take beer in with you like we do in PA.

Chance of rain jumps back up after midnight. Don't know about you but I am not confident they are capable of hotlapping and qualifying 80+ cars, 8 heat races, 2 B-mains, 2 Features in a 4-5 hour window. On second thought it seems like that should be plenty of time but anyone who attended a sprint car race in 2017 will probably think otherwise. Regardless I'll be there supporting this awesome event.

I just hope they don't drag it out all night like they did the first couple races they had last season. I went to the opener and it was terrible.

Yep, with weather being questionable friday and saturday, I would think they know they can't afford to screw around. I hope last year was a huge learning experience and thats behind them. They also got 130 sprint cars for that opener and Im sure thats more than they expected and were prepared for. They know exactly whos coming and what to expect for SCWC.

I was there last August for the 24 hours of Mansfield - I don't remember thinking food prices were anything out of the ordinary for other tracks. The track is awesome, you will love it. Be sure to visit the old Ohio Reformatory just down the road where "The Shawshank Redemption" was filmed. They take to you to 14 different places there where scenes of the movie were filmed.
To all who are going - safe travels and have fun!

The day is finally here... and according to weather channel and accuweather it looks like they have a window from 6pm - 1am to get this show in.

Not a large enough window for someone so sorely lacking in even the most basic track operating skills.

Oh c'mon, really?
Yes, the August 2017 show ran long, but that was because, in large part, of the unexpected high car count (60+ 410s alone, 4 full sprint features, etc). Like any successful business would, I'm sure they sat down afterwards and worked through their lesson learned. This is the same promoter who has managed to put a successful dirt show on for the past two winters in a large indoor stadium. How easy do you think that is?
Be glad we have someone like him to step up and take on a massive undertaking of converting an asphalt track and turning it in to one of the top 3 dirt tacks in the country (imo - haven't seen the updated Port Royal yet). I hope this race is a huge success for him, as we all beneifit from a successful dirt track that puts on shows like this.
Man, people will bitch about anything, and then bitch because there are no dirt tracks when they disappear.
