I;ve heard a lot of speculation about the Motter ride and there were quite a few things being said as to why they raced so little last year...but it sounds to me, according to a piece on Dave Blaney as a father to Ryan, that Dave may have parted ways with that car and may be once again fielding his own deal next season. He continuously mentioned how if he had enough sponsorship in place and that if the partners he has worked out he could be racing a biugger schedule next year, but that at the same time if he didn't race at all it be ok and he'd know why. So the question is...is the Motter team finished again?

It was basically all Dave's deal last year.

I’m hearing Dave Blaney in the Pete grove 70 along with Dave’s personal sponsors running full all star schedule.

Dan Motter announced today on the Motter Motorsports Facebook page that he is officially stepping away from racing. He had a very nice statement thanking by name each driver that had ever driven for him. I hadn’t realized that Mark Kinser and Gary Lee Maier had run some special events for him until I read this. He also thanked all of his partners over the years. He really thanked Dave Blaney a lot for last year as it sounded like Dave shouldered everything with the team last season. Was a very nice write up. Sad to see another great owner leave the sport. While he may not have had the headlines of some of the owners over the years, some really great shoes have raced the 71m...Wolfgang, Blaney, Saldana, Smith (Stevie Smith jr and Randy Smith) and Jacobs. Some great mechanics have turned the wrenches as well. I won’t forget the first time I saw the 71m in person at a spring WoO race at Knoxville. Young Jimmy Evans had quite the weekend...fast time against the WoO then a trip outta the joint OVER the turn 3wall!
