On the first lap of the feature Sweet tried a slide job on the leader Gravel in 3&4 and it didn't work. Sweet ended up bonking into Gravel and sending him flipping. On the restart, Sweet got to restart on the front row again. Is that because, even though he was part of the crash, he didn't stop on the racetrack?

That is exactly it. Most sprint car groups do not assign "blame" for incedents like the stock car, and pavement racers. If you stop on the track, you are the caution. Sprint cars really do not have the problem with rough driving that stock cars do, and we tend to leave judgement calls out of it.
