Sprint Series of Oklahoma and URSS Team for Longdale Speedway Battle Saturday Night!
 
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – August 22, 2017 - Race thirteen on the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series presented by Smiley’s Racing Products 2017 season is set for this coming Saturday night (August 26) at Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma in a co-sanctioned event with the Kansas-based United Rebel Sprint Series.
 
As if he needed any more incentive to score his first victory of the season, current series points leader Jake Martens of nearby Fairview, unofficially comes into the night with 15-point lead over defending series and IMCA sprint car national champion Andy Shouse. Shouse has a series best five feature victories on the season out of the twelve races that have been held thus far this season. Official IMCA point standings will be released on Friday afternoon.
 
Other SSO regulars expected to compete include Joe Wood, Jr., Loyd Clevenger, Chris Kelly, Jerry Jumper, Cody Whitworth, Tristan Oakes, Blake Dacus, Mike Scott, Josh Toho, Brandon Anderson, Blake Scott, Justin Mowry, Steven Shebester and Dillon Laden.
 
The URSS is coming off a three-race weekend where Zach Blurton is the current point leader. Steven Richardson, Jed Werner, Oklahoma’s Ty Williams, Darren Berry, Tracey Hill, Brian Herbert, Aaron Ploussard, Howard Van Dyke and J.D. Johnson are just a few of the series regulars expected to make the trip to the big three-eighths mile oval.
Saturday night’s championship feature winner will receive $1000.  
 
Last year twenty-five cars filled the pit area with Luke Cranston coming from his fifth starting position to win the caution-free, twenty-five lap feature finale.     
 
Gates will open at 5:30 PM with race action scheduled for 7:00 PM.
 
Grandstand admission is just $15 for adults; seniors and military $12 and kids ages twelve and under admitted into the grandstands for free. Longdale Speedway is located ¼ mile south of town on Hwy 58.
