Fantastic performance by the 5. Can't remember a night where any driver appeared to have the edge on the field like he had tonight.

Hope he has something for the 15, and despite last year's result, he's still the end boss at Knoxville. Hoping for a fantastic race Saturday, a lot of other potential spoilers up front as well.

that was the worst re start in the history of kville. gravel must have given clark half og=f the purse, for him having his goof=d eye closed. he should have been put back a row, for gof=ds sake he was along side of brown before the leaders even got going. anyone that did agrees need damn good glasses

I'm a Gravel fan & thrilled he won, but you're right about that restart (not the alleged bribery part, tho!)

But other than that, you have to admit he ran a GREAT race!  right?

I'm gonna take a wild guess on this (sarcasm!) & say Schatz & Gravel are the hands down favorites....

& Larson, if he races....

Those 3 were head & shoulders above the rest

How often are the heats won from 8th? Schatz & Gravel both did it..

Track was GREAT tonite, lots of passing, top & bottom. I think tonite was way more entertaining than Wednesday

LOL. Tough time typing there, eh?

From what I recall, I know Gravel got a good jump but I don't think he was out of line - could be misremembering though.

However, I'm not sure it would have mattered. No one could run the bottom of 3/4 like Gravel could. He was super fast wherever he wanted to be.

Yes because the starts this week have all been fair and square. This has been the worst week of starts and restarts I can remember.

They've been suspect at best.

I've noticed that too.   I was curious why he all of a sudden got picky about starts last night when he allowed the first start of the Wednesday night feature.   Austin McCarl went first and left Kyle Larson by about 10 car lengths and he let that one go?

Wow Gravel with the patented Ian Madsen restart there (though certainly not the worst restart in the history of Kville. That's a BIT hyperbolic).  I still think Austin McCarl's was worse, but they've been suspect all week as everyone has says...though again neither Austin's nor Gravel's matter in the end.  Kyle still got by Austin and no one was touching Gravel last night.  He had all lines (especially the bottom) absolutely locked down.

It will definitely be another epic Schatz/Gravel battle Saturday night, with Brian Brown in the mix! And Hopefully Kyle Larson.

i remember when he put kinser to the back in the nationals for jumping, and many others, i like doug he does a good job 95% of the time but i think he needs to clean his good eye out so he can see better. i would not want his job but after watching the restart gravel was along side of brown before the leaders weree getting on the gas. yes i am a schatz fan but that has no bearing here, fair is fair. i seen this year alone him putting cars back a row for juming during reg saturday night races.

The officials could have easily told him to throw the yellow over the radio. Not 1 official saw that start. Bull**it. Or was it because who was on the outside ? Clark is a better flagman than that, someone made him look like a a**.

Went back and watched it again - would probably depend on how Knoxville's rule reads, if anything I think the argument would that Gravel was out of line being up top. They were side by side at the chalk line and then Gravel drove by. Not nearly as bad as I think some are making it out to be - Austin's was way worse Weds. BTW, the front row was on the gas at that point, looked like Gravel just got more bite up on the cushion.

First of all,  you can clearly hear the announcers say 'The green is out!!' before Gravel passed Brown. Watch it again.
