I asked Cocopah if they were bringing back Winter Heat and here is what I got back.
"Hey thanks for contacting Cocopah Speedway! Unfortunately we will not be bringing winter heat back for 2018. We will be having out winter National modified tour as well as several other big races"
To bad, because the first two years were some of the best racing I've seen(5 races in 9 days) in a long time. Great track, good seats, cheap hotels and good food. Just don't see us going back to see the "modified tour" wish they would rethink Winter Heat. They got cars from all over the country and they got more cars the second year than they had in the first year, and I bet they would get more cars the third year. I also think they would have to limit the car count's in years to come because as more find this race the more will want to come. To bad we will never find out if I would have been right, p.s. how about another southern track(less chance of rain) picking up this January race?

It is a shame the dream has died! I knew once they had no 2017 event it was over! The many races in a tight time frame made it a great event financially with great start money if you made the show a few times. We had fun, but now it's just a good memory. RIP Winterheat!

i made the shows in 15-16 and just thought it was mediocre racing. 2015 was brutally cold with temps in the mid to high thirties...to much. greg burgess did a fabulous job but on to bigger and better things for him.
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...
