Red Hawk Casino championship point race number 10 on tap for Placerville Speedway this Saturday

Placerville, CA – July 11, 2017…The El Dorado County Fairgrounds based Placerville Speedway will present a full night of racing this Saturday July 15 with five divisions set to hit the track at Red Hawk Casino championship point race number 10.

Along with the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Ltd. Late Models and Pure Stocks the speedway will also welcome back the Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association and the Mini Trucks. Including this Saturday the quarter-mile bullring will be in action on seven of the next eight weekend’s through the end of August.

Elk Grove’s Greg Decaires continues his bid at adding one for the thumb this season with the Thompson’s Auto Group Winged Sprints. The four-time track champion leads the standings into what will be the ninth event of the year for the sprint cars. Decaires has a pair of wins thus far, while Roseville’s Sean Becker last week became the second driver to earn multiple triumphs in 2017.

After last Saturday Visalia’s Steven Tiner has moved to second in the standings. Tiner claimed his first victory of the season on July 1. Placerville’s Jimmy Trulli, Fair Oaks Jake Morgan and Citrus Heights’ DJ Freitas complete the top-five in points.

Live Oaks’ Matt Michelli charged to his fourth win of the season last week and continues to lead the standings going into this Saturday. By tallying his fourth triumph Michelli matched Ryan McDaniel for the most in the class this year. Ray Trimble ranks second in the points and is the only other driver to taste victory in 2017 so far. Mike and Tyler Lightfoot and last year’s champ Eddie Gardner round out the top-five.

Jason Palmer and Dan Jinkersen will continue their exciting battle for the Pure Stock championship on Saturday. Both drivers have three wins apiece and are coming off solid runs last week, which saw 2016 titlist Nick Baldwin earn his first victory of the season. Rick Grunert and Travis Emery are also amongst the top-five in points going into the weekend.

The Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association is set to make its fourth appearance of the season at Placerville Speedway. The previous three stops have featured three different winners with Ryan Winter, Shawn Jones and Danny Wagner claiming victories respectively. The Mini Trucks will make their third visit of the year on Saturday. Ted Ahart has claimed two triumphs, while Derek Boarman has the other win.

Adult tickets this Saturday will cost $15, while seniors 62 plus and juniors 12-15 will be $13, children 6-11 are $6, five and under are free! The pit gate will open at 2pm, with the front grandstand gate opening at 3pm.

Drivers meeting will be held at 4:30pm, with cars on track for wheel packing at 5pm, ADCO Driveline and Custom Exhaust qualifying scheduled to begin around 5:30pm and heat races expected to fire-off around 6:30pm.
