Kyle is the best ever but we are forgetting how good the 57 is working. Can someone give a short bio of car owner and crew chief? Thanks.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

That's a post by/about Shane Stewart but he discusses a lot about Paul Silva (who is wrenching and I believe "owns" or owns most of/part and maintains the 57). I know Paul has also worked with and continues to work with Rico and has connections to lots of racing families in CA. Shane gives some background on Paul in that piece linked above. Start there.

Congratulations on your 666th post! and it's a fine one at that. You're good at 'message boarding'... definitely an asset to this board that struggles at times with the level of intelligence and manners.

Paul "Pockets" Silva is the man. First Super Chuck saw of him was as a young fella working for TSR and Lasoski back in 2002-03ish. Left sprint cars and started a very successful business selling wings for micros, go-karts, etc. Sold business and came back to sprint cars. Remember when Roger Crockett was untouchable up in the NW? Silva was the wrench. Lasoski won the NST title in 06? Silva. Shane Stewart win the ASCS tour and a couple 360 Nationals in the 57 Rockstar car? Yep...Silva. (are you seeing a trend here?) Rico Abreu bursts on the scene and wins a bunch of big races? Silva. And now Larson.
Super Chuck thinks Silva is one of those rare breed wrenches that just makes a car bad fast and easy to drive. Doesn't say much, real quiet, just does his work and goes home. THE most under-rated wrenches in the business. Just my two cents.

Didn't even notice "666"...ahhhhhh....HaHa, thanks larryitis. WI is still on my list to hit up with a trip one of these years (camping, laking, IRA Racing). If so, beers on me, but telling me where to go/what to do is on you

Completely underrated as Super Chuck says. Paul's quiet, goes about his business and is a badass wrench. One of the best that rarely gets discussed. Might also be because he's been more interested in doing so part time the last few years, but if he keeps having success as he's dooing right now and has done with Rico and Shane here's hoping he gets back into the game. Or here's hoping he's completely happy with whatever path he chooses and we get to witness it when we can. Hopefully this will give him some credit. Again, Paul's a badass.

Wow. Many thanks. More experience than I realized. Kyle is the man but the 57 is as good as it gets too. Dude in 06 was very impressive. Where's Paul from? How old? Where's he live now? I normally don't get excited about this kind of thing but we are witnessing history. Truly Steve/Karl type stuff I said we would never see again.

Super Chuck thinks he's from the Sacramento area, if he remembers right. And he's in his mid-thirties. A very good guy, very quiet too so don't expect much more than a "Hi" or "Thanks". If Super Chuck wins the lottery, he knows who he'd hire to run his program.

Super Chuck, your posts are both informative and make me laugh every time. There's something about how a dude refers to himself in the fourth person, in every post, that just cracks me up every damn time.

And a runner-up finish with Shane Stewart in the 410 nationals about 5 or 6 years ago as well.

Way too soon to be saying he's the best best ever. A super talent that's for sure but lets wait before we anoint him with that title and just enjoy the show he's putting on for us right now.

I know the team runs an Eagle chassis, but who builds the engines for the #57?
