Iowa State Fairgrounds / Des Moines since the track is no more and they ran 305 racesavers on Fridays the years prior.

The people on the fair board at the Iowa state fair should be hit in the head with a hammer for doing that Tony Moro was just getting things working there again even without the help of the fair people, things didn't work there because they didn't want them to.but back in the days when the fair really gave a sh&t they sure didn't mind taken them profits, all the years sprints ran there and even the stock cars in the day even hurt Knoxville back then racers should take there kids to adventure land and skip the fair until they race again do for Tony it was his blood sweat and good guy that let it work anyway. One more thing that rich open wheel history jud Larson Foyt jones Unser all ran there bob trostle grew up a block away and always said it was his home track dirty.

I'd say between 18-25. If I were to guess on an exact number I'd say 21.

I like Tony Moro a lot but he certainly made his share of mistakes and there were a lot of things he could have improved upon.
First of all, I don't believe track promoters should race. There was an incident in one of the last two Fridays of the year where he got angry with the top truck driver there. Caused some commotion on FB and the driver (who won the championship in trucks) ended up getting suspended for a week. It's not that I think Tony is a bad guy, I just think when track promoters race it is a big conflict-of-interest.
They could have sped things up and basically always went way too late. See Boone and Knoxville for how to improve speed between races.
The track prep was pretty bad, but a lot of that can be attributed to the fact that they were probably working with an extremely limited budget. As was stated previously by someone else, Gary Slater and the rest of the fair board are morons. Still, I remember one night where they randomly sprayed a ton of water up high for no reason and it caused some unecessary wrecks.
However, I do agree that he was getting that track going. Attendance was way higher than the Mick Trier era and the Racesaver addition was a big hit.

Hard to say, maybe 16 or 17? I think Matt Moro was the only guy who raced both Racesavers and Knoxville. He'd be the only one that for sure wouldn't be there from last year (unless I'm forgetting someone).
I'll take some pictures next week and post them on here if you guys want!

Assuming the fair is 2 weeks, that makes for a 56 week year...Iowa public schools
