Badlands is listed on the 2017 Outlaws schedule and it appears they are going to be open for at least that one show.  Does this open the door for the return of weekly racing?  Hearing a lot of rumors that Brennan and the GM are rethinking things!

I figured they may be bluffing all along. Chuck likes attention. Simple fix, go back to sunday nights. 410's and 360's race together, extra money for top 360's. 305's, street stocks and hobbys. Charge $15. Kids under 10 free.Place will be packed.

Just wondering why it's so important that BMS runs on Sunday night? It's a well known fact that Knoxville locals only will run Knoxville and no where else. And, when Huset's ran Sunday nights before, they generally had less than 20 cars. When they ran Saturday nights this past year, hell, they had to run B Mains most nights. Why switch back?

Just because the date is listed on the schedule doesn't mean a whole lot.

Plenty of series schedules that come out now change by actual race season.

Not trying to burst bubbles, but that's just fact. wink

Agreed.  And how many folks that attend Knoxville also would go to BMS on Sunday night.  Those tracks are 5 hours apart.  I'd bet almost zero fans would attend both nights on a regular basis.  Sunday night is just simply a hard draw anywhere.  Chuck doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who just hopes to break even.  That's about all you could hope for on Sunday nights.  If I'm running that track its probably on Sat night or not at all.  It's too much work just to hope to break even.

The Outlaw show will at least be profitable. Would be kind of dumb to let that weekend go.

I could even see WRG and one of their partners leasing it for the weekend if he would allow it (pure speculation).

Prolly only hardcore fans attend both and rarely?

I know plenty of regulars that "thought" racing on Saturday night at Husets was going to be awesome, until they found out that they liked it better on Sunday nights.

The regular crowd out there was better on Sunday nights from what I witnessed and heard. No numbers to support that though, just eye tests and conversations.

Add that there's plenty of tracks closer than Knoxville to Husets that race on Saturday nights, not ONE on Sundays except Casino that I'm aware of. Just saying.

Okay pal, you list full time racers there and Tasker, who does run all over. But how many times did Brown and Lasoski show up at Huset's? None, Dollansky one weekend. Now, what about the Brooke Tatnells, Dustin Selvages, Bronson Maeschens, Scott Boguckis, Josh Scneidermans, Matt Moros, AJ Moellers, Rager Phillipses and the Bobby Mincers of the racing world? They pretty much race around their home area, correct? Your blind hatred towards one track shows thru, as usual.

As a fan.(not associated with any race team) Ive done the Knoxville  Saturday and Husets Sunday several times and let me tell you, even as a fan, its a brutal trip by the time I get 2 hours home Sunday night.  I cannot even imagine how  the racers  do it.

What the 13  car did for all those years running 3 nights was nothing short of incredible.

For what its worth,  I think it will open..

Of course there aren't many fans that would attempt both tracks on the same weekend. The fan arguement has no bearing. As for your observation regarding the Saturday night crowds vs the Sunday night crowds of the past, It appears as though you are correct. Saturday crowds weren't all that good. When Huset's car counts went to hell.......primarily because of the Ruben's, crowds did fall off on Sunday nights. Plus, the Sioux Falls area fans can recognize a good field of cars vs a field of 4-5 good cars and the rest being fillers, which pretty much was the field on regular Saturday night shows last year. But I remember well when the Sunday night crowds were awesome all summer long. There sure as hell isn't any competition on Sunday night in the area for entertainment, so the race track was successful.  Also, if the three tracks in the conversation, Knoxville, Jackson and Badlands had from the outset (and initially the NSL) did have Fri, Sat, and Sun to opperate, there would have been incentives to attract the drivers that do travel, to hit all three tracks. Chuck having taken over the track, and raising purses and offering incentives would have assurred that. Take a look at the first year of the NSL. I believe they ran at the then Husets twice maybe three times on Sunday night, and a good field of fast cars were there. Last year the top 10-12 fastest cars in the area were split up. The opportunity never presented itself to see what three nights of racing and the NSL could have created. I think that's where we all missed out.

Also......I would like to see Badlands continue, regardless of night.

Did it ever occur to you that the McCarls and Jeffrey went to Badlands because of the pissing match with Tod, as opposed to being paid to race Badlands?  I mean, they skipped a night at Jackson to work a concert.  It looks to me that there was a lot of animosity between Brennan/McCarl and Tod more than anyone being paid.  As a side note, as a professional driver, it made more economic sense to run Badlands.  Easier competition, guaranteed $400 in tow money and a strong payout.  The $400 in tow plus the payout was better than what Knoxville was offering....and you didn't need to beat Lasoski/Forbrook, Brown and Madsen to win.

Either way, that is past.  The question is really if Badlands is indeed opening again?  If so, does anyone know the night, possible classes or if this is just a one off weekend?  It would be nice to lock in vacation.

Did this ever occur to you? McCarl waited on his announcement of racing at Badlands on a regular basis last year for one thing...........the signing of the NSL to co-sponsor and support McCarl's Front Row Challenge. McCarl and Quiring inked the deal one day, McCarl announced the next day that he was committing to Badlands. Which meant that McCarl would not be a NSL competitor. Not sure if that created a "pissing match" or not.

...and Dobs has a FT job.  Just crazy what he did.  In PA (and probably OH and maybe IN) you could do a 2 Day weekend all within a few hours, but obviously the abundance of tracks within close proximity helps.

I'd say that the increased car car had  less to do with running Saturday nights and more to do with the increased payouts.

All bs aside, last year when BMS fumbled the WOO date and Angell Park and the IRA scooped it up... that was a huge success. Place was packed and standing room only. The WOO should cut ties with that $hit show of an oeration and keep AP in its place. Would be a better draw all the way around. The drivers really enjoyed it as well.

I definately agree on the Friday/Saturday/Sunday deal.

410 drivers in the area woulda loved it.......Jackson on Friday, Knoxville on Saturday, & CB's bigger payouts on Sunday nights. That's a 410 weekend triangle that I think many drivers woulda loved? I believe the car counts woulda been big at Huset's/BMS had that happened. jmho

Last year when I heard the splitting of nights was going to occur, I just shook my head. All in the past now though.

Ok great your dream came true, you were right, Chuck is a dildo, NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT ALREADY, you miserable broken record of a human being. Don't you work or have some other hobby besides getting on this forum and being negative. You were so sure he'd fail that you took EVERY opportunity you had to comment about it. Chuck set up shop in your brain and you still can't get him out LOL, it's over now, you can move on. Have fun at the races if you are capable of having fun.
