The drive from LAX to the track can be brutal.  It is 75-80 miles from the track,  but  due to traffic, it can turn into a three hour drive.  Especially on a weekday.  Also, the airport is one of the busiest in the world.  On the other hand, Ontatio is about  30 miles from the track and the airport itself is seldom busy.

It took me 3 hrs. to drive 75 miles last year, & I was cheating by using restricted lane when traffic came to a dead halt. Found out later its a $400 fine, lucky I didn't get caught! Missed almost everything first nite except A-Main, but worst of all I was a nervous wreck after all the stress...

I actually planned for traffic, flight was supposed to arrive at noon, but I was delayed in Salt Lake City & got in my rental car at exactly 5PM.... oh brother

But racing was good, Bryan Clauson won Saturday final after driving all nite to Phoenix & back for new engine

I'd go this year too, but trying to pay off credit cards....

I used to love watching reruns of The Fall Guy when I was a little kid. The theme song was great, Colt Seavers truck was cool, and who could forget Heather Thomas....

Good luck to the 81X.
