New Sooner Modified Series First Race This Saturday Night!
 
 
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – September 19, 2016 - On the heels of a successful inaugural season of the Sooner Late Model Series, Brill Motor Speedway track owner Mark Brill and Oklahoma Sports Park track owner George Welch have announced he has formed the Sooner Modified Series, it was announced Monday.
 
“Nobody thought this late model deal would work but it’s been pretty good,” says Brill. “There are a lot more modifieds in this state and we are looking to get something together to help the car counts at some of these tracks around the  state.
 
The new SMS will runUSRA rules while IMCA cars will also be allowed utilizing an eight-inch spoiler. Each event will pay $750 to win and $125 to start with a $25 entry fee.
 
First event for the SMS will be this Saturday night (September 24) at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada while a second date is scheduled for Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker on Saturday night, October 15.   
 
If enough interest is generated at both of these events, then a slate of 10-12 races will be scheduled for the 2017 race season.
