I'm probably going to shot down to Tri-Cities for the Fri-Sat Gold Crown Midget Nationals.  I see they are also playing host to 410 MOWA sprints.  Looking at previous years entry list this seems to be a really top notch weekend at the end of the year, correct?  MOWA sprints...basically a regional 410 series?  I"ve never been to Tri-Cities so any "heads up" so to speak would be great.

I've decided for 2016 my entire 5 weeks of vacation will be 100% dedicated to non-wing, winged and midgets.  I've read that car counts are up everywhere as well as butts in seats and I really want to be part of that.

Been to a few of them and considering this year also. Its worth the trip. Has been good shows. It is a wide 3/8 track and the big midget teams can put on one heck of a show. Midget car counts have been up and down but there is no competing midget race this year which should help boost the count this year. Early years wingless sprints were the support which was neat but MOWA is also a good group. Watch the weather a few have washed out and 'veI been when its cold as **** and the next year in the 80's.

Sounds like good show, very tempting. I could hit it on my pilgrimage from East Coast to Colorado, but I'm going to 4 Crown, kill a few days on my friend's farm in Ohio, back East for WG Nationals, then head West. Trouble is I'd have to kill another 5 days somewhere in the Midwest.... hmmm

I will help you out. The gold crown is three days. The midgets race on thursday, friday, saturday. MOWA is only friday, saturday. Maybe hit the Air races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on your way back on oct 2nd. Now your down to only 3 days to kill.

If the weather is good, this is a barn burner event.  30 or so midgets, 25 or so sprints and the facility is top notch.  One of the last shows of the year, but also one of the best in my opinion

As others have stated, when the weather cooperates, it is a great show.   I have been several times, and it never disappoints.

You asked for some info.  There are a couple middle of the road hotel chains a couple of miles away in Poontoon Beach that I always stay at.   It is close to the freeway, close to the track, and their is a police station there as well.   With your down time, you might as well plan on doing both the Arch and the Budweiser Brewery tour.   I always do both whenever I go.

Yes, weather can be a factor, we've driven out & been rained out more than once, but if they get it in it's well worth the drive. A great way to end the race season in the mid-west.

Also, no trip to Gold Crown is complete until you visit Fast Eddies. http://www.fasteddiesbonair.com/ One of a kind joint!

Make the trip. Was there a while back for the UMP Latemodels.  Pretty racy. Decent concessions, and mixed drinks.

Lates were good, midgets should put on a helluva show.

That track and the prep by the Gundaker's makes for some awesome Midget racing.  If you are within a distance to get there, don't miss it. If you cannot be there in person or are too far away to make the trip, we are super happy to announce that the Tammy and Kevin Gundaker have asked us to come back for our 3rd year there to cover the Gold Crown Midget Nationals for a Live PPV Broadcast once again.  We'll have coverage all 3 nights and will include all racing.... USAC Midgets and MOWA Sprints.

Thanks and if you can, make this race in person, you will not be disappointed.
