Weather looks great. Car count has been steadily dropping though.

Attended two Rahmer night with the fellas...we are passing on the experience this time. Lost interest in driving the distance to endure the hype and fanfare...the racing is good and the track has made improvements, don't get me wrong...but Sunday night is the wrong day of the week for a drawn out experience when you would prefer they cut the crap and get back on the road home.

You're right about that. They need to trim the fat big time. I like what they're doing but doing it on a Sunday night doesn't work for most people. My biggest issue however, has been track prep. Path Valley is a racey little place.......when they put some damn water on it. Every time I've been there for their recent 410 shows, it's been blowing dust and getting black in hot laps. The racing has somehow still been decent but it could be so much better if they got the track right. A little bullring like that should be tacky and elbows up. I'm very disappointed that all of Fred's shows have been presented on a shitty surface but hopefully this time around, they'll finally get it right. Hopefully, they leavd Steve Post out of it. That guy is one big pain in the ass. It isn't a wonder he loves Port Royal so much. He probably relates well with their horrible announcers who just like him, never shut up and are always saying stupid shit and in general, just being annoying.

Chinese quality surfaces for sure At least he's consistent. 15 minutes from my house is too far for his skating rink.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

With this being the third race in three nights on that surface and very hot temps, I wouldn't expect a very good surface. The Rahmer Promotions do seem to have dwindled in popularity, it is far drive for most people with really bad traffic trying to get in and out of there and it is a Sunday night. Might still pull a good show but my guess is the track will be in bad shape.

Wow, some of you Pa. guys are spoiled. I only get to Path about once or twice every summer & always enjoy it. (Usually Speedweek & USAC MIdgets)
Traffic? pffff....

If spoiled means having some discernment for down time and non racing crap drawing out a show, count me in.

I can see that, but after 5-6 hr. drive from Connecticut, I'm just happy to be there & can put up with the hoopla BS. After Scranton-Wilkes Barre traffic jam, Harrisburg isn't so bad, & by the time I'm up in the hills near Path Valley, its a pretty drive in the country. Usually go for a swim at Cowan's Gap State Park before the races
After the racing, no big hurry to get back to motel room either

Now if I had driven 5 -6 hrs. for 19 cars, I'd be bummed.
Thats why I go for multi-race events, Speedweek, etc.

There's too many races in August in PA to have good car counts for all.
After Knoxville, they had a 4 race weekend last weekend, 3 race weekend this one, going into Labor Day weekend which feeds right in to their version of the month of money.
The logical schedule for Rahmer is probably a big spring race the weekend of the All Star visit, the PA speedweek date, and maybe a late fall race. Last week of August, probably not the best.

Too bad he won't pay the All-star sanction. That would be a good show.

Just speaking my opinion. They wore out the party at the path deal by running 4 times a year. And each time the show got more drawn out. This time of year some teams are saving for the big money races, and not playing bumper cars there or dealing with massive rocks or mud clumps ruining equipment. Most of our guys are blue collar so they work Monday mornings, and let's face it path isn't a short distance for anyone except people in path valley. Lastly, hats off to Reeser for an 8 place finish in his 305

After attending the 2nd Rahmer Night at Path Valley...riding home in the back seat with Cobra at the wheel and one of the fellas working the scoring tower...I said "I gotta hand it to Rahmer, he's the first posse promoter to turn 410s into a support series for the 600s"...and it remains true to this day. Take the 600s off the bill and you have a boring night of hug the bottom thru 3-4.

You got that right. The surface in 1&2 offered up a little tease of how awesome that place could be if they'd just get some water in the damn track. Unfortunately, the rest of the track was a skating rink. I don't know why the hell they waited until AFTER they had 3&4 pounded tight to then come out and put water on it. They left it sit there and literally bake in the sun for a couple of hours, then came out and ran it down tight and then watered it. That water hardly made a difference at that point. I'm going to give it one more show for them to get it right and if the surface is shit the next time like it has been, I won't be attending any more.

I think I attended 3 Rahemer nights but was not at the recent race...the 410 support comment was a moment of irony.
