NEW EVENT ADDED TO KYLE LARSON’S OUTLAW KART SHOWCASE PRESENTED BY PARKERSTORE

CORNELIUS, N.C. (August 3, 2016) – Overwhelming participant interest in making the Kyle Larson’s Outlaw Kart Showcase Presented by ParkerStore into a two-day racing event has resulted in adding a race on the first night, the Prelude to the Showcase. As last year’s opening night of the inaugural Outlaw Kart Showcase saw a full night of practice laps at Chico, California’s Cycleland Speedway, this time around the Prelude will serve as a stand-alone initial event for the Open Division contestants on Monday, September 5th. The Box Stock and 250 Intermediate divisions will also be included in the racing program that night.

“Last year’s one-night race was a huge success all around, but we listened to many long time racers who wanted to also race on Monday,” said Larson. “Taking that into account, we came up with the Prelude to the Showcase, which will pay $1,000 to the winner in the Open Division. It should turn out to be another highly anticipated portion of the Outlaw Kart Showcase event.”

The structure for the Open Division will also now see a draw format on each night. With an enormous kart count of 164 in the division last year, qualifying has now been eliminated to provide the best racing surface possible. Also new, the Box Stocks and 250 Intermediates - which run the same format as last year - will see their qualifying and preliminary events on Monday. Their A-Main events will be held Tuesday, September 6, joining with the Opens in the Outlaw Kart Showcase.

Box Stock and 250 participants will only pay one pre-entry fee that covers both nights of racing, while the Opens will pay a $30 entry fee at the pit gate for the Prelude race on Monday. Open Division participants are not required to race in the Prelude, however every Open driver that plans to race in Tuesday’s Showcase must be pre-entered. Everyone will need a pit pass each day, available only at the gate on race days.
