Chuck Brennan, the guy everybody says is single handedly trying to ruin dirt track racing put an extra $10,000 into the winner's purse last night at the Lyon County Fair races. Kaeding came from 9th starting position to take the lead on the last lap of the 24 lap feature. The lead changed 3 times on the last lap, great race.

Just curious. How did that help out anyone besides the winner TK? If you want to draw a bigger field of cars, maybe announce the extra $10K a week or two before the actual event? Js wink

Chuck has money to burn, threw an extra 10k to the winner, great for the winner, did nothing to increase the 23 car field on the night of the event, that's all I mean.

Great for TK though!

Congrats to Tim, and the fans. Sounded like a good race. I hope to make it up north to RR Speedway someday.

At face value that seems pretty cool with the extra $10,000K, but what were the odds that one of his weekly racers would win?

Before everyone gets their panties in an uproar about not advertising the race paying the extra $10,000 to win, he did this at the actual race track in Rock Rapids, Iowa.....not is own track.    I'm not sure when it was announced last night since I was unable to attend.   It was a Memorial race for a former driver who passed away recently and was only 24 laps since that was his car number.

There was only local cars which was great.   Even if Kaeding won it, he's still considered a local racer with a local owner.  Glad they weren't able to advertise it prior to the race so the big shoes could come in and take the money out of town.

By the way Badlands/Husets is having their memorial race this sunday....  Paying $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to win....who knows till you show up..

More drama..

https://www.facebook.com/ClayCountyFairSpeedway/?fref=ts

Because of volatility in the sprint car world, tonight’s NSL 360 Sprints sponsored by Arnold Motor Supply has been cancelled due to a potential low car count.

“Sprint car racing in the upper Midwest is difficult right now because of some power players who are making it tough on us little guys – and we are a little guy in the race world,” said Clay County Fair CEO/Manager Jeremy Parsons.  “I don’t want our fans to experience a sub-standard show, which is what they would have seen tonight.”

“Rumors surfaced last night that there would be less than 10 cars,” continued Parsons.  “For the long-term viability of the track financially, I cannot take that risk and upset our fans.”

Racing action will continue this Friday night with Farmers Insurance Lezlie Boetel-Pohlman Night, which will feature a kid’s candy toss, a benefit for Rally 4 Veterans, and a balloon artist.  It will also feature the Non-Wing Micros Nationals that was cancelled two weeks ago.

Really, the NSL threw in the towel how long along ago.    They should go after the NSL for breach of contract.

This was the Randy Droescher Memorial Race at Rapid Speedway.  I seem to recal that Randy was set up to be an employee at Badlands Speedway before his unexpected death earlier this year.  Do you suppose that plays into the picture?

Huh?  This was to be an NSL race?  I thought the NSL 360 group disanded?  Is there some bigger drama going on in the background?

Weird deal all around.

1)Jackson gets between 15-25 360 sprints all the time.  Why in the world would they think they are getting less than 10?

2)Blaming "the power player" for this?  Who are they taking shots at, Tod or Chuck?  If it is Tod, did he block the local NSL drivers from running there?  It seems odd to do that, but who knows.  Is it Chuck?  Given that he just watched a race in Rapid and gave an extra 10k, and he has no race competing against the event nor are they any where near Badlands, it seems very far fetched.

3)If they knew this was a problem, why not contact Chuck Z and ask him to help hustle a few cars?

Let's be honest, the track gets a lot of sponsorship from Arnold Motors.  If they pulled support from Jackson, maybe Tod is sticking it to them by blocking some of the Jackson cars from running there.  Weird deal.

1. Most jackson regulars cant afford to race 4 nights in a row especially when they have to take off work for midweek shows. Yes they all pay more but taking the time off work is a killer.

2. Id blame both power players. there is obvious dislike between them and it sucks we all cant get along. and im sure there is a lot behind the scenes we dont know about.

3. Who the hell is Chuck z going to hustle? hes not swimming in money and gold/silver

My ultimate speedweek would be Thursday at Fairmont, Friday at Jackson, Saturday Worthington and Sunday at Badlands.

All tracks are within 2 hours of eachother and they are all in a line. only 2 days off from work instead of 4.

Just to clarify a few things. Last night's race was our Randy Droescher Memorial races and on Sunday Badlands will have their Randy Droescher Memorial races. The two races were advertised together on flyers but don't really tie in together besides that so no one was more surprised to see Chuck there adding money for the winner than us! Had we known we would pay that much to win, we definitely would have advertised it but none the less, we appreciate the fact that Chuck came to our track and put up the extra money! He also made it known that the extra money was in memory of Randy. The racing was great last night as it has been most of the year and we encourage everyone to come out this Friday for FREE grandstand admission!

I AM SORRY BUT I REALLY WONDER IF BROWN OR MADSEN OR DUDE WERE THERE IN A 360 AND WON IF HE WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING, I BET NOT.

Again, just to clarify. He gave us the money way before the feature was run. If I remember correctly, he came up to the scoring booth during the heat races or intermission and handed our announcers the money. I was sitting at the computer when it happened which makes me think it was during heat races but it may have been intermission while i was creating the sprint feature lineup. We don't want to start any forum board fights but we do want to make sure the facts are out there.

Yet another post from you with no foundation......   If Brennan would of planned this don't you think in your own little mind (and several others on here) that T-Mac, Dobs & every driver that you says he pays under the table weren't there.????

Whats really funny is that all the Jackson brainwashed lovers are blaming Chuck for the races at Spencer being cancelled because the crew from the now defunct NSL 360 deal/ said they heard a rumor that they would only have 8 or so cars so they told the track they should cancel the races.   REALLY..........  Now I see they have cancelled night 3 of their "SPEEDWEEK"
