Hutchinson, Kansas – July 5, 2016 - It is the month of July and that means only one thing here in the central parts of the United States; it is time for the granddaddy of them all, the Hutchinson Grand Nationals. This year’s 60^th annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Hutchinson Grand National Auto Races Presented by Midwest Superstore Ford / Toyota of Hutchinson will take place on Friday and Saturday night, July 15-16, 2016 atop the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas. A special practice session will be held on Thursday night, July 14, for all participants of this prestigious event. Once again the 360-ci sprint car portion of the event will pay $1000 to Friday night’s dash qualifying feature winner while Saturday night’s championship feature winner will earn $3000.

 

The purse and format for the NCRA Sprint division is as follows:

 

NCRA Sprint Car Series: Entry Fee $25

 

Friday night:

 

Qualifying heat races

 

Friday Night Dash Qualifier: 1) $1000, 2) $700, 3) $500, 4) $350, 5) $325, 6) $300, 7-15) $200… Every car will draw for a heat race starting position with the top fifteen in passing points transferring the night’s feature finale. The top six in the “A” feature will be locked in “heads up” for Saturday night’s $3000 to win championship feature.

 

Saturday night: 

 

Championship Feature Payout: 1) $3000, 2) $2000, 3) $1500, 4) $1000, 5) $800, 6) $700, 7) $600, 8) $550, 9) $500, 10) $500, 11) $475, 13-24) $400…Cars that finish 7-15 in Friday night’s feature will line up for the front spots of the two “B” features (7th pole for first “B” feature, 8^th pole for second “B” feature, etc.). The remaining six spots in both “B” features will be filled with cars finishing 16^th and below in passing points from Friday night to make the fifteen car “B” features. The top nine from each “B” feature will transfer to the night’s Hutchinson Grand National championship feature.

Gates will open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand general admission is $17 for adults; $7 for kids ages 6-10 while all pit passes are $30 for each night.
