Heard Chad Schmitmeyers last night was tonight, odd time to quit! Anyone know what's going on?

What makes this any of our business?  What you should have said was that " Chad has moved on to other endeavors, and we wish him the best." All the rest is classified as none as of your business.

This is a freaking message board man, I'm out of line for asking this question on here? I got numerous calls saturday night asking what was going on since I live close to Eldora and I was beyond disbelief when I heard the news. Thought I would ask on here, if u want to be a Dick about it keep your comments to yourself. Anyhow for whomever cares,  heard that him and Tony had a falling out and Chad has had enough. I heard Chad got a job at a construction job around the Celina area, which there are plenty of them in the area. Truth or not, but that's what I heard. Also heard the track was junk Saturday night, highlights of the a main looked good though. Tough situation for Eldora with the Royal coming up. Hope the track is good.

The race at Eldora on Saturday had a strange feel to it. They qualified in the lower 13 second bracket but it dried out quickly after that. They graded the top of the track but never really watered it throughout the night.

The heats were really strung out 1 lane affairs. With the stock cars the only other division and minimal cautions (hear that e-mods?),... the program was run very quick. The feature was good with Haud, Shaffer & Kemenah all battling for the lead.

The feature was over just after 9:30 and we were headed home in the daylight. I thought the crowd was light and the Speedweek finale just didn't have a big time feel to it for a 10k to win race.

Because it's news that involves sprint car racing.   Definetly not out of line asking that question on here.  He didn't say anything bad about anyone or the track.   Would it not be news if the Dunkin family quit prepping Knoxville?   It would be to me.  You need to lighten the hell up.

I was there saturday nite and thought the track was good. It's the middle of summer and it's a dirt track. They watered it and ran it in  and made for a great feature. Eldora is kinda unique in that it needs to be fairly dry & slick to have a good race.

You have to run a smaller track to get a big car count for the Finale. Eldora is too big for a lot these teams motors

I like anymore people just bitch to bitch! I go to Eldora to see RACING! If you didnt like that A Main Saturday go, play golf. The top 3 were battling at least a 1/3rd of the race. The track was perfect for Eldora to have a great race. Was there dust? Yes. Was it slick, Yes. BUT thats what you need at Eldora for a good race. Tacky no dust Eldora equals a power parade with follow the leader.

Adam, Yes he is leaving and took a job near Celina. Sucks Chad's last race preping the track was Saturday. After talking to him I get why he is leaving but totally sucks!

I hope the new person or people leave a little of Earl in the track like Chad did and dont read message boards where all the whiners hang out.

I thought 36 cars for the Speedweek final was a great car count, more than I expected knowing other tracks were running.

Life's short, race hard!!!

Thanks Duane, I too hope they don't try to remake Eldora and put there own stamp on it. Chad had that track in tip top shape every Kings Royal since taking over. And you guys are right, Eldora is best dry slick and rubber laying during the Amain to create several lines. A little dust never hurts anyone, just makes me drunk more lol. Can't wait for the Royal, see ya there Duane!

Paging Gene Frankart, not sure he would want to do all the travelling required from Northern OH though, but he could get the job done, he was a Master in his days at Attica.  Saturdays feature may have been the best I've seen this year and the coverage on Eldora's PPV was easily the best also....

Funny thing about that is...Gene has been handling track duties @ Limaland for years now, I've heard more people bitch about dusty conditions there than any other track in Ohio, especially when the Doty was held there ( I for one always thought the Doty shows were great,...but that's what most people cried about)

do it in the dirt

But what most people don't know that went to the Doty is that a few of them might have went to the hospital or at least a visit by the EMT's if the cushion still developed. Seen with my own eyes & felt 1 one night. I'm talkin huge ass mud clods. My brother & I used to walk Limaland after the races & that cushion was damn near to our knees !!!! Seen it take out many a racer. Used to be people in turn 4 that had plexiglass shields with handles.

Limaland is slick and dirty because the owner wants it that way and he tells gene how to prep it, and from what ive heard gene is under contract there so he has to listen to the boss.

Many years ago I thought Lima was the dustiest track I had ever been to and I had been to a bunch.  If it's still the same then that's the way somebody wants it because Gene knows how to prep a track, trust me.  We talked track prep many times back in the day and it was a pride thing tohim......

Most tracks want it slick because it slows the track down and you have less wrecks meaning more cars coming back each week.
