I enjoyed the race. Lots of passing, give-and-take into turn one when needed. Good driving. Can't remember pit road being so crazy in years past. Good show! What did everyone else think? I don't want to say too much if others didn't watch it live.

I thought it was good also. Glad to see a first time winner. Hildebrand is my new favorite driver just saying.

It was a good race but I can't get over the fact that not too many short track racers get there anymore.
I would love to see Kyle Larson race there....or Rico...or Christopher Bell. Don't tell me those guys couldn't adapt and thrive. Tony Stewart did. A good driver can and will.
Who is Alexander Rossi? Geez. It was good passing. A good race overall. They need to get rid of the rear wheel pods...they have caused problems last year and this year....
Too bad for Bell and Hunter Rey. They had the fastest cars.

Ive never heard of 2/3s of the drivers and todays Indy cars look like a turd hearse. Wish they would dump IRL and run super modifieds with Chevys, Fords and Mopars with short track stars driving them. Just not into the 500 anymore.

It's like every other top series now, including NASCAR and F1. If you don't bring money, you aren't going to be successful. Rossi brought money, he lost his F1 ride because it wasn't enough money. It was enough to get the Herta/Andretti seat

Agree that they are not the best looking cars.....but I'm 53 and the lead-up to and start of that race still gives me goosebumps. Today was also special because it was the hundredth running.

Also - when did they put clocks/timers on each car? Threw me for a loop at first....kinda liked it though.

You need to watch more then "saturday night" races to know who's in a race car anymore. Rossi has been around awhile. As pointed out, drivers are now expected to walk up with suitcase of money in it b4 a team will talk to them. Talent is the secondary issue. As pointed out by Scott Dixon in an interview, only about 6 or 7 drivers in F1 are paid, the rest are boughten rides. The same holds true in Indy, NASCAR trux/Nwide series and ARCA. To get a ride in a Trans AM car, it will cost you $40K-60K/race. Many sprint car teams expect you to bring/buy an engine for example.

The racing has truly never been better. We're spoiled now. Unfortunately the drivers have never been this anonymous and any momentum from this event will be lost next week to 2 really boring street course races in Detroit that few will watch.
It was cool to see Indy packed again though.

Great Race. The entire race was a great race. Had everything that defines a great race... comers and goers, tons of passing, pack racing, hard racing, strategy and drama. Watched the whole thing. Crowd was unbelievable. Largest crowd ever for a US sporting event by almost double. 350,000 to 400,000. Those numbers would have made Indy (just the track, not the city) somewhere between the 45th and 53rd largest city in the US yesterday. Track will be lucky to pull 20% of that for NASCAR race in a couple months.
I can promise you that race was hands down the best race run yesterday. Better than F1 at Monico, NASCAR Coke 600, NSL at State Fair, or Badlands. If you didn't watch it or TiVo it you missed out.
I respect all forms of auto racing, because without the big series, there would be no sprint car series.

and your plan would result in the end of Indy car racing. Super modifieds are not popular at all , or you would see more of them. They are not very good looking cars with motors set clear to left of chassis. The cars as they are today would be death machines at Indy, you woud loose alot of these drivers that we are all fond of. Do you really think Penske or Andretti would hire some driver who could not drive a go kart in a parking lot because he had alot of money?

Three events no racing fan should ever miss are the starts off the fourth turn of: The Knoxville Nationals---The Little 500--The Indianapolis 500. All three will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

In and out was no different maybe even easier than usual. With the record crowd they did a great job getting people in and out. We stay for a few post race interviews then a short post race tailgate to let traffic thin. probably left parking lot 2 hrs after race end and spent maybe 30 min in traffic before open freeway. Made it to Kokomo before hot laps were done. All pretty normal.
I thought it was a very exciting race. In past years there has always been patches of unused seats in the stands. Not this year. It definately did look sold out. The amount of people that stayed after for the post race winners parade lap was awesome. The electronic number box showing the cars position was helpful though hard to read at speed.
