Ardmore, Oklahoma – May 16, 2016 - A huge double-header weekend of racing a wait racers and fans as Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Oklahoma is set for the second of four “Fast 5 Friday” events this Friday night (May 20) followed by regular weekly race action on Saturday night.

It all kicks off in a big way as the “gladiators” of the new Sooner Late Model Series will hit the track for their fourth event of the season and the second at SOS. The inaugural appearance for the tour saw Kip Hughes picking up the victory and getting the best of a twenty-three car field. Other feature SLMS feature winners include Randy Timms and Daminan Patocka. To learn more on the SLMS check out their official website www.soonerlatemodelseries.com.

Also appearing will be the new Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA Racesaver Sprints and this event will be race number six on the 2016 season for the series. The SSO has completed five events thus far this season with Lubbock, Texas driver John Carney II having picked up three victories while Texas driver Brandon Long having picked up a victory in Wichita Falls, Texas. Fairview, Oklahoma’s Jake Martens picked up the victory the last time the tour hit the track back at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker back on April 23rd. Carney won the last time the SSO visited the speedway with twenty cars pit side. The 305-ci sprint car drivers race for IMCA national, regional and state points and a good field of “winged warriors” are expected. More information on the SSO can be found on their official facebook page Sprint Series of Oklahoma.

Last and certainly not least, the “wingless sprints” of the Wingless Oklahoma Warriors will be making an appearance, showcasing their breath taking side by side style of non-wing racing that has become popular throughout the state. At their last Ardmore appearance it was Derick Cottrell picking up the fifteen lap victory which saw three different drivers leading at least one lap.
