NCRA Sprints Back in Action This Saturday Night in Dodge City!

Park City, Kansas – May 2, 2016 - Current National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car point leader Don Droud, Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska leads the series to their first appearance of the season at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas this coming Saturday night in a combined event with the gomuddy.com NSL 360-ci sprint series.

Droud, driving the famed Ochs Brothers #1x, won the last time the tour was in competition, coming at 81 Speedway in Park City back on April 16. At the season opener back in March to kick off the two-day “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” he came home ninth and during the $10,000 to win championship finale he garnered a sixth place finish.

He comes into the event with a 55-point lead over five-time and defending tour champion (six total) C.J. Johnson of Quinter, Kansas whose best finish thus far this season was fifth during the last completed event.

Sitting third and only 60 points out of the point lead is “The Flying Fossil” Danny Wood of Norman, Oklahoma. The veteran has two, top ten finishes this season, a second and a third with a disappointing 23rd during the $10,000 to win championship finale.

Former two-time division champion Jeremy Campbell currently sits fourth in the standings, just 95 points out of the lead, having finished seventh and fourth respectively the past two races.

Ray Seeman has put together a solid three races and sits fifth in the standings while Jeff Stasa, Jay Russell, Forrest Southerland, Derek Hagar and Jake Greider round out the top ten.

In one of the more amazing stats, since 2010 there have been six NCRA sprint events held at Dodge City Raceway Park and six different winners. Past series sprint drivers who have reached victory lane include Tony Bruce, Jr. and Campbell (2015); C.J. Johnson (2014) the tour did not compete at DCRP in 2013; Arizona’s Logan Forler (2012); Ryan Roberts (2011) and J.D. Johnson (2010).

Gates open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:30 PM start time. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults while children eleven years of age and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are just $30.

Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, Kanas on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south. For more race information call the track (620) 225-3277 or check out the tracks official website www.dodgecityraceway.com.
